Hey, Latte...What a perfect treat you are on this surprisingly cold Northern California morning! Nothing cozier than a sweet hot latte to warm the insides and a sweet soft kitty cat to warm the lap and the heart on such a day! And I bet you have plenty of those up in Seattle...yes the coffee and no doubt also the kitty cat cuddling capital of America. Pets and purrs from MARTHA and Julie ("Mee-ow!") the meowthy (talkative) Calico Princess who no doubt as we speak is curled up in a sweet little bundle in the middle of my bed, getting her morning beauty rest...

And yet, Latte does kind of resemble a peach mocha...

but then, as I learned so long ago, wives always know better than husbands, so why fight it? Latte it is! And what a grand and beautiful sight Latte was to wake up to on a surprisingly warm Alaska spring morning.

If Latte were to hang out with me, the two of us would drive all over this valley, eating salmon and drinking lemon mochas while whistling at the squirrels that scamper across the road to leap up onto the backs of startled moose, where they swear at bears and wolves.

I would laugh, and mocha would twitch his tail appreciatively while tilting his ears attentatively.

That is the kind of life Latte and I would lead, if only we could.
