I don't know why my nephew Albert won't drink water much anymore. He spends his nights outside and comes in only for a minute or 2 to eat. My concern is he's not drinking water.
Any idea ?????

If he's outside all night, he's probably getting a water supply from outside. If his health is good, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Cinnamon..

Mary, very well, be right on this, however, have you noticed any changes in Albert's urination? Is he going regularly? Is it an unusual color/odor? What does his vet say?

I'm the same way!!! I used to have a water bowl... mamma has now put it away, instead she keeps a bowl in the sink filled with water, and if I ever jump onto the sink, she quickly hurries over and changes the water... I just ignore her... and the water!

Sometimes I'll drink of the toilet, but I've nearly even stopped doing that. Mamma was VERY puzzled over this "non-drinking" behaviour of mine, and asked the vet. He said that I was as healthy as can be, and as I eat a lot of wet cat food (also always a bowl of dry out) I probaly get a lot of liquid from that... I'm also an indoor/outdoor kitty, so I might be drinking somewhere outside of the house... (I have been caught drinking of the pond!)...

Best bet would probably be to ask the vet!

Thank you very much! I had wondered the same thing after I posted. I also noted when I opened some wet cat food, he lost his mind trying to get to it. He just looks like he's lost some weight and I was concerned
