Pssst.....is anybody here? I've only got today and tomorrow before I'm off for a week (yippeeee!!!) so I wanted to make sure and not miss Thursdays, but the place looks pretty empty so far....
Oh well....I've discovered Mudslides so I'll make up a pitcher of those for whoever wants one. They're basically Kahlua mixed in the blender with ice. They're really a mix from TGI Fridays that says it's a coffee and cocoa flavors mixed with rum. You put it in the blender with ice and get a really yummy drink. Mix it with ice cream instead of ice and get the most delicious chocolate shake you've ever had!
Yes, Mario, a cherry would be perfect on the top of a mudslide! :D

I'm here!
Allergies runing rampent and giving me a sore throat so I'll just grab a cherry limeade and go snooze in the corner.
Thanks for the cherry for my limeade Mario but could I have one you haven't squeezed to death?:D

AHHHHHH! A mudslide! Make that TWO mudslides. After a day of being general slave at the golf course, I can use 'em! Uh, Mario? just place the cherry in my drink. don't slam dunk it, please.

Hi everybody - yes things have sure gotten quieter around here - I hope its only a phase.
Those mudslides sound delicious, right now according to the scale I'd better stick to just the cyber kind
Sorry to hear about the allergies mo-mo. My husband suffers greatly this time of year. We almost stock enough Drixoral at home to open our own meth-lab. (we actually have to show ID to buy over-the-counter allergy medications because of the meth problem here).

Thanks for the cherry for my limeade Mario but could I have one you haven't squeezed to death?:D Connie, I''m with you on the allergies. I get hay fever pretty occasionally (which is pretty bad when you consider that I cut grass on a golf course for a living!) Connie, I'll bring over a mudslide and join you in the corner.

catland, same here. I used to use Actifed. It's kept under lock and key too. I stopped using it because it interfered with my arthritis medicine. I just sniffle and sneeze now.

Mudslides....those things can be very dangerous. I was a Bridesmaid in a friends wedding years ago and had 3 of them! The place where the reception was held had a 2 mudslides per person limit. I just got someone to buy me my THIRD. Needless to say, I don't remember the reception at ALL! I look at pictures of me at the reception and I don't even remember having the pictures taken. Rumor has it I had a good time.
I haven't had a mudslide since.
:(
I'll just take a beer if you have one.

Haven't opened the Mario threads but when I first met him I found out he's a widower. He was once married to a wife that worked in a circus and wore a diaper (sorry Mario, I've forgotten her name). Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT leave your keys or shiny objects around unless you want to crawl on the roof to look for them  He's a kidder, he's a joker - he's a midnight toker.... he don't want to hurt no one... oh baaaarrtender, can you slide some of that mud this way please? mmmmmm! Let's see, what munchies would work with mudslides that won't make us OD on chocolate? Maybe something salty?? Hmmm, let me put my brain on it (uh oh, she's going to work without her tools again:rolleyes:

Oh, Speaking of Kansas: The muppets are putting on The Wizard of OZ. It's on ABC and is on either Friday or Saturday of next week. Kermit plays the scarecrow. Just thought you all may want to look for it. As a former munchkin, I'm looking foreward to seeing it.:D

Mario, please stop throwing cherries at me. Sounds like you could use a hot toddy!
Whisky, water, lemon juice and honey! My parents always gave them to us when we were kids and sick. Now days they would probably be arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor! We always felt better though! :D

I've been drinking hot orange juice and tea with lemon & honey. I have scotch, but it's Chivas Regal, and I can't bring myself to drink it in a toddy.:D I also made a batch of pea, ham & potatoe soup, that seems to be doing the trick.:)

Hmmm...must be 'cause you're on the opposite side of the ol' dirt ball because split pea soup (what we call it) always makes Terry sick instead of making him feel better! He has an infamous story of how, one Halloween his mother wouldn't let him go trick or treating until he finished his pea soup and grape juice. He chugged it all down and two minutes later threw it right back up again. Can you imagine, pea soup and grape juice - eeeewwwwww :p Ever since then he can't stand the smell of pea soup....and I love it! Wonder how come he doesn't hate grape juice too?
Hot toddy for Oggy and Mudslides for the rest of the gang. Went to the liquor store tonight and they have all sorts of these drinks! I'm such an alcohol novice. :o Beer - no problem, but anything else and I only know the basics. So much to learn, so few Thursdays. ;) :D

I haven't been to Thursdays in a long while! Heya Mario, whats up?
A nice glass of Warm milk for me thanks...I've been sick with this nasty sore throat and caugh thats making my stomach upset. Gosh it seems like everyone has been getting the ol creeping crud :( Remus says a catnip tea cures everything though...
Funny that Pea soup is mentioned. My mom made up a huge batch for mothers day and its been the only thing I've been able to keep down. I just love it! I'll take a bowl of that too...
Oh and dont forget the CNT for Remus and Spook, they've been working hard to make me feel better!

I just love pea soup, I make mine with any ham chunks I have, or a ham bone. It may be a bit thick to serve with mudslides today though  If we are going to do soup, maybe some minestrone. Takes awhile but I'm sure I can find some leftovers to throw in. Hey you West Coasters, can anyone find some woooonderful sourdough bread? I feel like a bloody mary this morning (no comments from the peanut gallery please  ). I've been humming Lou Reed songs all morning, can someone pleeeease put a nickel in the jukebox and play something else? Trev? I think dear little Possum and Mario have become fast friends by the way.

I don't blame him. I couldn't imagine trying to get down pea soup and grape juice, but the thought of it coming back up would be enough to keep me from getting it down.
O.K. Mario - settle down. Just because PJ's Mom asked who you were doesn't mean you have to strut around the bar like that - flinging cherries at everyone!
You know - Possum and Mario seem to get along quite well. How about we adopt Possum for the bar too? I think she could keep Mario in line. (I am in love with Possum too - but for me it is the eyes!)
Pea soup and grape juice - ka yuck!! It reminds me of having to eat breakfast on Christmas morning BEFORE opening presents when I was a kid. I opted for a bowl of corn flakes which I whoofed down. Promptly whoofed them back up! I have hated corn flakes to this day.
Now a mudslide - mmmm - does that sound good.
What is to eat around here - aside from pea soup? Laurie, are you making crab cakes today by any chance?
Richard will drop in when he can - serve up drinks for everyone - yell DONE and then go right back to work. Seems he has a new boss that has no sense of humor - and well - no sense!
I don't have to work today, do I??? Someone tell me no - I love a good lie!
Come on Possum - let's teach Mario how to play soccer.

It's YOUR lie Gini, you can tell it anyway you want ;) A little early in the year for good size Chesapeake Bay crabs of any decent size but would anyone like some sauted soft shells? I love them but understand that the idea of eating a whole crab, legs and all, can be a bit disconcerting to those that aren't familiar with it :p
Oh Laurie, I have only had soft shell crabs ONCE..........and I just loved them. And that AIN'T no lie!:D

I'll clean them up in the back. The process of cleaning soft shells is not for the squeemish (heh heh heh). I think they go nicely with some new fresh asperagoose so let's soak some spears. WOW, wanna grill something? This bloody is soooo nice this morning - think I'll have another. STOP KICKING THAT SOCCER BALL AROUND INSIDE THE BAR YOU TWO!!! Thats why we have a playground outside
Tubby & Peanut's Mom
05-12-2005, 11:00 AM
I'll pass on the clams, guys, but Terry loves a good linguini with white clam sauce, so he can have my share. But since the grill will be going, I'll throw some shrimpies on it and have shrimp on the barbie. Mmmm......sounds yummy and it's nowhere near lunchtime around here!
Oh, and Gini, don't you mean Possum can teach Mario about football? I think we're the only ones in the world that call it soccer, aren't we?
Where's Slick at this week?
It's back to fall here, so I think I'll start a fire in the fireplace....if the wood isn't too wet from all the rain....
Terry's at home packing up the motorhome. I hate when he does that by himself because I leave all this stuff out that needs to go in and he either just takes it in and throws it any old where, or he puts it someplace where I don't know where it is.....all the while complaining about all the crap we have to drag along.....but he doesn't understand, I need all that crap, that's why we got a motorhome so I can bring it all along. ;)
Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Hope everyone has a good day!

Hello from the LOTEA
How is everyone???
Grape juice and pea soup???
It reminds me of the Air Force acrobatic team, The Thunderbirds..
They take journalists up for a ride when they hit town.
One journalist was told to eat something before his ride because some people blow chunks during the manuevers..
He asked the pilot what he should eat..was there any food that was better than another??
He was told BANANAS....
Bananas?
"Yes", the pilot anwered, "they take the same when they come back up...."
lolol....
Mudslides!!!
