I have a mutt dog. I think the whole breed thing is way over rated. Whatever dog you get you know it will love you! I also have wanted a certant breed. I just think a breed means how fast, how cute, and how strong you want your breed to be. I think all dogs have a loving and caring heart.

My favorite breed is the mutt. I like having a dog with a one-of-a-kind look plus there's less chance of health problems due to overbreeding.

I voted for "I don't know, I just love my dog"--what else can you say when you've got both a mutt AND a purebred? They are such different dogs, yet each is special and neither is "better" than the other! There's no way to pick a favorite.
My mutt girl is the absolute smartest dog I've ever seen. I could swear she understands English! I love purebreds and mutts alike and think breeds mean nothing to me. As long as its furry and likes to give sloppy puppy kisses, I'm in love :)

I have always loved mutts, but wanted pure breed papers so I could show. Rainbow talented and loving I know she could make it!

While I like all dogs (and most cats) I have a soft spot for mutts. They are all one-of-a-kind, never another one that's exactly the same. And they do have less health problems in general.
And it's fun to try to figure out what got mixed with what!:)

P.S. I have 4!

I chose my dogs for personality. Yes, they are purebred. But I don't think it matters one bit!! Each one is special in his or her own way. I love them all!!! :)

As a child I grew up with mutts. My first 'own' dog is a pedigree Golden, choosen by my husband because of it's personality, the incredibly lovely and patient momma dog, and the great breeders we got to know so well.
I don't think it matters. Every dog has it's own personality and either you like it or you don't.
I still have a very weak spot for mutts, especially those considdered 'challanged'.

I love mutts! I love all dogs actually! But I can't fathom or understand paying so much money for a purebred dog when there are thousands, if not millions, that are in shelters needing homes!! Unless you want to breed or show. The local shelter here has purebred dogs in there all the time! When I got Duncan there were 2 German Shepherds,a basset hound, 3 Rottweilers, 3 basenji puppies, a chowand a sharpei, not to mention all the pit bull terriers that were there also!! And with all the breed rescues out there....what's the point? I'm big into rescue and adoption for people as well as pets! There should be no such thing as an unwanted pet or person in this world and we are so overpopulated already!! Anyway, this is just my opinion...

I like and love mutts. I have a mutt myself and she is unique as can be. I don't think breed matters as long as the chemistry is there -- the dog loves u and u love the dog. :)

I think certain breeds are nice, but if it weren't for mutts and mixes, Kia would not be here. I cannot imagine my life without Kia.

Mutts are more likely not to be imbred. And are cheeper!! lol j/k. The store i bought Jo from (YES ITS CLOSING!!) invent breeds (like a mutt) and put the 2 parents together to form a new breed, and yes, they charge 400 dollars for it....Breed doesn't really matter to me, I just feel in love with Jo when I held her, annd I couldn't afford a purebred when mutts are just as good I think :D no diff really only one has papers

I love mutts. My Graham is my best friend and he means the world to me. I love him with all of my heart. I think he's the best, most obedient and intelligent, not to mention, most adorable dog I have ever known. He's 100% pure mutt and I would not have it any other way.
I do love those purebreds too, and hope to have a golden puppy this summer to add to my family, but I still love those mutts.

You phrased it so well, that all I could do is repost what you posted!:-) I'm not sure what kind of dog I will get in the future, but I do believe that somehow, I'll end up with the right dog for me, be it a purebred or a mutt. Either way, it will definitely be some sort of rescued animal in need of a loving forever home:)

I might have a Corgi, but I Love EVERYBODY. Louie is a purebred Pembroke but before I found him I almost got a Husky/Corgi mix...they were adorable and "funky" looking they were all gong by the time I got there.... I love anything with fur and four legs.

Jennifert, some people buy purebred dogs 'cause you get to know the general personality of that breed. Don't want to be cruel or bad or anything but in Chile we call the mutts kiltros and some of the are pretty ugly and here, any dog can get ticks! SO imagine a poor mutt in the street living out oof rubish and full of fleas and ticks that's why there are so many of them 'cause you'll have to spend a lot of money to make the dog, look, feel and act healthy. The real problem in here is that we don't have pounds so people just drop them on the street and that's where they stay. People from restaurants and shops and fishermen sometimes they give them some leftovers and stuff but most of them die of hunger.:(

I think that any dog is to cute to look at and ask for a Breed. Even if they are a pure dog or and mutt. They are in a way like people. . . . They all have their own personality. Just like the saying . . . You cant jujde a book by it's cover . . .You can not judje a dog by its breed.

Well....I think I would take most dogs as long as they were loving and healthy...But as far and looks...I wouldn't want a common looking mix..And I could really get into the breeding thing if there is ever a solution to the pet surplus....And, I think some of you are crazy about mutts, I'm not really crazed in love about them but they're good babies...But if there was a answer on the poll like "Both" or "Half-Half" I would have voted...I dont wanna start a fight please dont think Im jaded....:(

I picked the one that says that I just love my dog b/c even though I have a pure bred English Springer Spaniel I didnt get to choose what dog I wanted. But I think I got the best out of the litter. I just love her. I have never had any other dog. I dont know what its like to have a mutt. I dont think I ever will. I almost did though.

The Poll thingy said I had already voted but I had not  If I were able to I would have to agree with most.... it's the dog itself, not the breed. Mine are all "mutts" but two look like "pure" border collies and two like "pure" aussie's. Their Dr. told me that whatever they look mostly like is the type of personality they most likely will have. True true true. Hound mutts - shepard mutts - labbie mutts, muttlies of all kinds Bring 'em on :D

I also love all kinds of doggies. We have always chosen to give a mutt a home when we had the opportunity, because we figured the purebreds would be most likely to find good homes.
All our dogs have been the best. We had a collie/german shepherd mix, a lab/rottie mix and now Bonnie, the "dog of mystery". Each was so very special and unique.

I have a mutt! I went to a Doberman rescue because I had Dobermans as a child. They had gotten in a red Dobe with pups and didn't know what the father was. Devon was the last one, when I met him he was three months old. He was SO cute, I took him right then and there! He is marked like a red doberman, but has long silky hair - he is magnificent! Found out much later that his father is a Bernese Mountain Dog. Needless to say, Devon is a LARGE dog!

I have a pure bred and a mutt. I really don't think it matters, although I think mutts are underrated. My boys have different personalities. The difference is what I love about them. Jeffrey, (basset/lab) is so full of energy! We rough house a lot together. He's my running partner (I hate running) and he is very smart. Bandit (pug) is my cuddle buddy. Although he gets burst of energy every now and then he just likes to be loved. He is also very stubborn when it comes to obeying (sort of like me) he will sit in my lap all day long if I allow it. I really don't think it matters wheter pure bred of mutt. It's all about personalities and how you and your dog relates.

Yeah... Mutts are probably the best kind of dogs anyone could ever own.. my first dog, Benny was a mutt. He was a yellow lab/beagle mix. He was a lucky dog, he lived up to 17 years of age. I'll never forget him, he probably had the best personality a dog could have! Why, he protected me when I was a baby, and followed me around when I was a young kid, until I was 14, it was his time to go. Soo.. I would have a mutt anyday, but not right now, lol. I have two purebreds..after all, like I said, it doesn't matter what the breed is, it's the personality that counts! - Rachel
