My 2 yr. old Weimaraner has a very red irration on the inside of his back leg. It is shaped as a perfect circle with a light dot in the middle of it. Probably about the size of a quarter. Not sure what it could be. Any ideas?
Thanks.

WELCOME TO PET TALK! :D
He could have gotten bit by a bug or something if it has a dot in the middle and it got irritated around it. Or he could have punctured it slightly, but it might have not bled, do you have any pictures of it?

It does sound like a bug bite of some sort. It could be a tick though and that would need to get removed as soon as possible. I've never seen one in real life so I'm not sure what they look like but I have heard descriptions of ticks that sound similar. I'm sure others will know more...
Welcome to Pet Talk! My aunt and uncle had a weimeraner named Baron when I was growing up and I adored him! They are so beautiful!

Sounds like a black fly bite.

Maybe its a ringworm. If it is you can get the same treatment as people get for it.

Thanks to everyone who replied! We took him to the vet last night. It was some sort of bug bite. We got talking to the vet about tick bites and had him tested for lyme's disease. Came back positive. They were not sure if the bite was related or not. He is on meds for 30 days and he should be fine. Guess you just never know.
