Hi everyone. I finally found out that Storm does have a UTI. My regular vet is out of the country and on vacation so I talked to the head vet and he said that the amount of blood he had in his urine was a significant amout to indicate an infection. They also found struvite crystals in his urine. He's now on Baytril pills 2 times a day for the next 7 days and I also have some animax cream to put on his irritated pee pee area 2 times a day. He was on Royal Canin S/O but now I'm switching his diet to Hills Prescription C/D again for at least the next 2 weeks. I'll be mixing both wet and dry together. He'll then go back in 2 weeks for a recheck with my regular vet and hopefully eveything will be fine. I know that a lot of this has been stress related so this makes me feel much better about rehoming Cirrus.

Sorry to hear Storm has UTI. I hope the medication will help get rid of it. Instead of Hills C/ D which is supposed to prevent crystals forming, I'd give him S/D which should dissolve the crystals. Also, he'll probably like it better as there are more fat in. ;)

It's very likely stress related as you think. Hopefully it will help calm him down when Cirrus finds a new home.

Good luck and scritchies to Storm.

Hope the antibiotics are kicking in my now Storm!

{{{hugs}}} Tracey. It's bad enough having a sick furkid, but having to deal with a sick furkid and rehoming one really has to be putting a strain on you. {{{hugs}}}

Daisy sends kisses and headbumpies to adorable Storm and is keeping her paws crossed that his medication is making him feel more comfortable.

Thanks everyone. I think he's starting to feel a little better because I've noticed that he's not licking his pee pee area as much as he was before.:)
