I posted this as a reply to another thread, but thought I'd put it here as well...better safe than sorry! "Lysol can be toxic to cats! It contains chemicals the cat cannot metabolize well. http://www.fda.gov/cvm/con2.htm
"Additionally, products containing phenol, such as Lysol, should not be used around cats because of their unique way of metabolizing these products". Although I love the smell, I prefer to use Clorox instead of risking liver problems etc. with the herd. ;)

I've heard that Lysol was bad for cats. I only use Oust in my bathroom and I just read that it contains triethylene glycol and the article said that anifreeze contains ethylene glycol which is very bad. I wonder if these are very similar or not. The can does say it's hazardous to humans and animals.

Triethylene glycol is in the same chemical "class" as ethylene glycol; I'm not sure about its danger to cats.
