<wipes window, stands on tippy toes and peers in> Anybody in there??? Mario, are you here???? <taps lightly on window pane> Anybody???
Oh well, guess I'll just sit out back and wait until somebody shows up with a key. We have to get one of those fake rocks to hide a key in so we can get in now that Richard is quite "incapacitated." Good thing I have a a spare nekkid beer in my car.....

Goober Chicken-Hiney checking in Debbie. Sorry to keep you waiting.....work, you know, always gets in the way. Richard lent me his keys so let's go in and "set a spell".
Smells musty in here. I'll open up the windows and get some fresh air flowing. Can't think of a DOTD though but I'm sure someone will have a suggestion.
It's lunchtime here so I think I'll check out the kitchen and rustle us up some munchies. What do you feel like?

Hi Debbie! If I bring my own glass, can I have a sip of your beer, please. Ooh the sun is lovely out here isn't it? I can't wait 'till the works start to open up the front!

Oh, Hi Karen. I didn't hear you come in. Sit down and relax.
Isn't it strange how the kitchen is always stocked and none of us make any trips to the store?? Cyber Bar....you gotta love it!:D ;)
OK, we've got nachos with the works for starters and I've got a batch of chili cooking on the stove as we speak.

Tough day at the salt mines, I mean golf course! I'll just sit in this comfortable chair and talk with Karen. Hi! Those nachos smell GOOD! I think I'll grab some and a diet lime coke to go with it.

Hi David! How's work going? Is the old knee holding up under the extra strain?
My husband makes a mean margarita. Should I try to persuade him to come?

YES!!!
Does that answer your question, Karen? :D
A good ol' margarita would be wonderful about now - thanks. Thanks for the nachos Slick. I love chili - especially now that the temps dropped about 15 degrees since this morning.....and I didn't bring a sweater or a coat. Guess I have to start believing that the weather people really do know what they are talking about.
We have a bar/restaraunt two doors down from us at work here, and the beer trucks are always making deliveries on Thursday and Friday. Somehow I've never seen a food delivery truck though. Hmmm........ Guess I'll ponder that one over one of Karen's hubby's margaritas. ;) :D

You are welcome for the munchies. I just wish I could cook as good as the rest of you.

I've go to get back to work for a bit so I'll catch you all later.

Well, I've brought a jug of Alec's margarita for you all to try. You can tell me what you think. Personally, I think it tastes fabulous with your brilliant chilli and nachos, Slick!
Laurie? Are you OK? I think we have all the ingredients now. Sit down and enjoy one of Alec's margarita's, why don't you?

Yay - our rain has stopped and we're supposed to have nice weather this week.  How about we open up the outdoor seating? I'll clean up the tables if someone can help me with the umbrellas.:D

I'm back, I'm bad, I'm Nationwide :D Couldn't decide which would go better with chili/nachos and Hubby Margarita's so I brought some sourdough bread AND some cornbread (Southern Style of course). Also stocked up the pantry and freezer. WOW! KK.. Hubby Margie's have a secret ingredient don't they ;) These puppies are grrrreat! Oh boy, Mario was a great help at the grocery store [not]. I've been barred from bars, and barred from dancehalls *don't ask, don't tell* .. but DANG, never been barred from a grocery store before :o:eek: gimme another Marg please;

I'd say! I just took another final (only 2 more of these puppies to go and I'm done!) and I just flew through it! Easiest class and easiest final I've ever had in my life. Too bad the last two classes can't be this easy.
Now to celebrate the rest of the week off - no school - yippee!!!! Still have to work but that's ok. It's so much easier with no homework hanging over my head. Gotta admit, I like school but homework is for the birds.
So, who's going to play games with me? My mom and dad introduced me to a new card game last weekend called Phase 10. Kind of fun, especially when my mom and I gang up on my dad.....who has a reputation for always winning. ;)
Come on everybody, pull up a chair round the table. Huh...Mario...wait! Oh noooo....ok, who wants to play 52 card pickup.

Hi all I'll take a drink something strong please. Its been a long day and a longer night before.
I get home yesterday afternoon to find a note the land lord wants me out (after 11 yrs. ) by the end of the month. I'm deperssed over this of course and then at 10 pm My daughter calls her hubby had wigged out. totally lost time and facts of the day. thought it was January. So off to the boonies to get him (hopefully) in to the car and to the hospital. Hes so agreeable it scares me. after tons of tests inculding a spinal they think it has some thing to do with all the head injureis hes had. The migraine head ache just blocked something. after a shot of something to take care of the headache he starts getting clearer . So at 3am they let him go so I went home . fell on the couch in my clothes slept for 3 hrs. and showered went to work.
Got home and called a friend who has a small rental thats empty to see if I could rent it for a month or 2 Till I have a new place. Hubby gets home and tommorrow we are going to look at a place double the size of this one (also double the price) also a huge shop(no more wood working in the house!!!) the don't care about pets!!!!:) :) :) :)
So all is working out but I'm pooped so I'm off to bed as soonas my jeans get in the dryer
Hey guys, why didn't you warn me? The phone just rang and it was the grocery store. They want to know why ALL of the bananas in the produce section are peeled!!
MARIO???? Would you happen to know anything about that?
I think we ought to start a thread for Richard. We miss him! Boy he must really be going through withdrawal - or he is getting a lot of work done.
When my computer went down - I couldn't believe how much more "real" work I accomplished.
Who made these mar ga RITAS!! WOW! Think I had better sit a spell - nachos and chili.......thanks Slick.........this will fill up the little spaces and hopefully absorb some of the Mar GAR RITA!!!
RedHead - congratulations - you know that we all brag about how much we drink - but just remember - they are all cyber drinks.

Not a bad day at work either had a surprize hubby rode his Gold wing up and had lunch with me and 6 crazy women.

Sorry I've been absent - I've had a busy day. We just re-rented our house (that we bought to be a rental) to a very nice woman with one cat.:D
What made everything extra special was that her check for the first month's rent/deposit was made out to me, and not my husband (like the last two tenants always did). I never thought this bothered me until I saw that check in my name - and I'm very lucky to have a husband who doesn't have issues about something like this.
Then to top things off, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some beer (real, not cyber ;) ) and guess what - I was CARDED!!!!
(for anyone keeping track, I'll be 49 in June - that's human years, not dog years).
So now that I've had the best day of my life - I'll have one of Richard's slushies - I don't care who makes it.:D :D
Corrina - I wish you the best of luck with finding a rental of your own.

Sorry to have missed the party this week. I was busy dodging tornados. Kansas had 18 yesterday and one took a bead on our town. Lukily it went south of us.
I'm just going to grab 4 cat nip teas for the cats and a cherry limeade for myself. Tornado or no, they must have their treat! :D
The weather is so odd. Yesterday it was in the 80s, today it's in the 50s. No wonder we had twisters!

I'll have a red slushie if you have one handy.
I got a chuckle earlier. I opened a can of sliced black olives (yep, for nachos). Guess what brand they were?
MARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't know the little fellow had his own olive company. Must be how he can afford all the cherries and beer he consumes!

Well, I've been out all day and here it is another Sat night I'm home....nothing on TV, the cats have been fed and brushed, so now it's Pet Talk time.
Hi Trev. What are ANZAC biscuits???? Hmmmmm...Pimms...I used to drink that decades ago. Just look behind the bar and I'm sure there's some in stock. BTW...Trevelle says HI to Uncle Trevor.
Laurie....I used to make those same brownies in the 60's. ;)
Richard....thanks for checking in. :)
Connie...too funny. If Mario can spit cherry pits, imagine what he can do to olive pits???
The weather here all week has been like summer. Today our high was 72 and it's supposed to get warmer as the week progresses.
I guess this week, we should drag out that BBQ and clean it off.

Here's a recipie Slick, I think Trevelle would like them, give her a hug from me.
Traditional Anzac Biscuits
Anzac biscuits received their name during the First World War. Up until that time people had been baking “Soldier’s biscuits” for the troops, based on a recipe derived from the Scottish oat cake. The main feature was that no eggs were used otherwise the biscuits would spoil on the long journey to the front.
These were renamed as Anzac biscuits after the campaign at Gallipoli.
Degree of difficulty: Low
You need:
There are literally thousands of variations of this recipe used throughout the country. We have listed the ‘dry ingredients’ which can be mixed together first and then the two processes involving heat and wet ingredients.
Traditional biscuits
'Wet ingredients' - 1
125 grams butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
'Wet ingredients' - 2
1 tablespoon boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
Dry ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. In a saucepan gently melt the butter then add the golden syrup and heat, stirring until thoroughly combined. Put the baking soda in a cup or small bowl then pour in the boiling tablespoon of water.
Pour this foaming mixture into the warm butter/golden syrup mixture and stir to incorporate - it will foam up. Now gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring well to incorporate.
Place walnut size pieces of the dough on a buttered oven tray and then press down with the back of a fork to flatten.
Bake at 175 degrees C for approx 17 mins.
