I need help getting Pooka back. Can anyone help form a dog train so I can get MY dog back? Please! I do not have a car. I am willing to offer as much money as I can, and even meet half way and my bf said he would give me gas money to get her back. I just need help please! Could anyone help set up a train for me? I have gone through hell the past 6 years, thinking my dog was dead but ALWAYS having some kind of hope that she was out there somewhere. I knew in my heart she was around, somewhere, with someone. I comb the Chihuahua rescue sites for California weekly, and my last trip to California I handed out more flyers thinking that somehow she was alive and someone would find her. So please help! pleas eplease please plase please. If you don't know what I'm talking about go here:

Oh and she's older and really good in the car and well behaved. She knows a lot of tricks, and is crate trained too. She deserves to die with me. Please come through for me Pet Talk! I have prayed everyday to get my doggy back! :(

where is the dog at & where are you at?
Will the first person to pick the dog up be safe? From what you've said, these don't sound like quality people

I can also have her dropped off a vet, so she could be picked up there too if need be.

Pooka is in California and I'm in Eugene, Oregon. She is in Whittier, which is in between Orange County and L.A.

Maybe if you put the location in the title of your post you may get more help?

uh, wow. myself, as you see in my signature, I'm STILL looking for my dog, Mocha. but that doesn't mean I DO feel as much as you. and I would want to help with the rants I'm getting from Mocha's situation. I live in middle of you and whitter - I could pick pooka up this weekend. I LOVE driving but since that house sounds SO dangerous for me too.
so what I did... I called whittier police dept - they couldn't help with not knowing where it was stolen. did she ran away or seems that someone have stolen her from your property? also, if it was stolen from your property, you'll need to call your local police and make a report NOW.
two questions to help me to help you more - where or how on the day did she disappeared?
and how did you find out this morning that your ex-boyfriend's brother had her at the whole time? as a fact of now, I'm on phone with eugene police to find out more what they can help with and they said of course, legal action! so hope to get your answers asap --

actually you said the dog is safe with a friend of yours, is that correct? if that's so, I am more than glad to drive down this weekend and pick her up and drop her off somewhere, I would need some help with gases, of course. -
I got off phone with your local police and said if you're willing to press the charge, they considered it as a theft enough for you to be to prosecute and gave me the district attorney number for you to call - do you want me to post number here or PM it to you?
let me know whether works for you, PM me if comfortabler -- very sorry about this! (I would give a dam* suing their ***es too!)

Cass, since you and your bf are already going down to LA in July, why don't you wait until then. At that time you can pick up Pooka yourself and drive her back home. Just a thought.

I would contact all of the local humane societies and rescues between you and the dog and ask each if they can provide transport or a volunteer. I'm sure they will know at least a person a piece that is willing to help. It is a good idea to have the first person meet with this guy and pick up the dog in the parking lot of the local police station if they don't feel safe. Oh I hope you get her back soon and safe. If I lived near there I'd drive her the whole way myself (as long as you could wait for me to take her to the pet store for spoiling before you got her back). Probably be cheaper to fly the 2000 miles, do you think she could be shipped or maybe you don't want to risk it.

slick...how can you wait after 10 years? cass and I lost our dog, have you? but it'd be cool (as if in july) we have a huge mob of pettalkers :)

If someone can get her to the San Jose area, I can take her a few hours north, or if someone can get her as far as Bakersfield or farther north, I would be willing to pick her up and take her to the SJ area.

Whittier....about five hours south of me.
GRRR!! My boyfriend's parents are about 40mins from Whittier right now, but they don't take very good care of their animals and I wouldn't trust them with an elderly dog... :( :(

Downey: (562) 940-6898, Los Angeles: (888) 452-7381, Burbank:818-972-9228, Bakersfield:661-323-8353 ext 100, Hanford:559-584-8766, Fresno: (559)498-8640, Madera: (559) 675 7891, Merced:209-385-7436, Modesto:209-524-7631, Sacramento:916-383-7387, Woodland:530-662-4989, Redding:530-238-8789, Yreka:530-465-2276, Medford:541 779-3215, Grants Pass:541 479-3691, Roseburg: (541)672-3907, Eugene:541/689-1503 or whichever others you know.
Just in case you decide to try any rescues along the way, here's a list from Whittier to Eugene in order. If you have unlimited long distance good luck with this, I'd try maybe every other one at first and see how far they can relay. Most of these also have e-mail adresses listed on petfinder.com, just look up shelters by state.
Tell them about your case and see if they know anybody who would be willing. You might just need somebody to connect between one or two places along the way.

Hi guys!!! :D I just need to figure out when he can get her for me and I will update as soon as I know. He is at work right now so I need to wait to talk to him, but a little good news is I have a job interview for another vet clinic! :D

Please be careful. Maybe you can do Cass' idea and have him drop her off at a vet clinic. Then you could just pick her up from the vet instead of meeting him somewhere.
You guys are very nice for helping!

since I forgot to post my classtime, hope cass will get to see this before discussing with her friend.

I kind of think he's turning his phone off so I can't call him. But I saved a bunch of screen shots of our aim conversation just in case I go to court. I'm trying to get as much evidence as I can.
Here is a message about him talking about how I found out. The way I found out was through a picture album share link for his phone. I just happened to click on it while cleaning out my yahoo account to see if the old photos were there, but there were new ones and that's how I found out about my dog.

aw. . I wish I could drive so bad right now! Still, if this is happening around the weekend (next weekend, or the one after that) I think we'd be able to drive her up to the Oregon border or maybe further.
I feel so sorry for you, Cass! :( I cannot imagine some one stealing my dog, after so many years. She does deserve to spend the rest of her life with her real owner. People are so freakin horrible, it amazes me sometimes. . . Pooka sounds like a great little doggy
