Hoo-boy! How does everyone here do it!?
Mowgli and Zelda still aren't on speaking terms with Kahlua (except, of course, to say very bad things to her). And Kahlua still wants to whoop up on some tortie and orangie! I swear she and Mowg have it in for each other!
Take last night, for example. I was just starting to doze off when I hear some noises in the living room. So I figure I might as well haul my butt out of bed and make sure Mowgli and Zelda aren't getting into any trouble. I get my bedroom door cracked open just a little and Kahlua goes streaking out, somehow homing in right on Mowg in the dark.
So I'm stumbling blindly for the nearest light switch, hearing, "Rrrrrowwwl hiiiiisssss rrrrrroooowwwl kerthunk bang smack hiiiiisssss CRASH!" On goes the light in time to see Mowgli bound to the top of the kitty shelves with Kahlua hot on his heels, and from there to the window behind the couch, at which point the poofy Kahlua turns around heading right for me!
Kahlua promptly gets scruffed and tossed into the bathroom, and then comes time to start calming Mowgli down. He's so shaken up that he doesn't even want anything to do with me! I tried giving him treats to get him close to check him out and make sure he wasn't hurt, but he'd just take 'em and get away quick, growling and panting while he ate.
Seeing as how Mowgli looked ok, I decided to give him time to calm down, and went back to bed, leaving the bedroom door open so he could come if he felt like it. Sure enough, he comes into the room after a few minutes - still a little jumpy (but who wouldn't be after getting chased by a little terror through a dark apartment), but willing to play "Catch the Bed Mice" for a bit.
He tires of the game, I start to doze off. Kahlua can be heard mewing in the bathroom, and stretching her feet under the door. And suddenly I hear, "HISS smack!" On goes the light, and I see Mowg in front of the bathroom door, hissing at Kahlua's feet and smacking them. Real tough guy when there's a door to keep him safe!
What a night!
Of course, this morning, Mowgli was all snuggly and sweet and back to his old self, and you could just tell he was going, "Traumatic experience last night? What traumatic experience?"
