Dear God!
What is Next??? I just saw a video on MSN internet stating that in the state of Wisconsin, there is a bill that if passed will allow the LEGAL KILLING of STRAY cats!
It has already passed in SD and MN!
Does anyone know anything about this? I am almost in tears thinking about the gun crazed free for all that this may unleash.

Amen mommacat.
We live in minnesota & didn't know until this wisconsin b.s. bill that it was legal here.
The man who introduced the bill in wisconsin is a firefighter!! I cannot believe that a person who protects life for a living would ask for a bill meant to cruelly eliminate the lives of innocents that are doing what nature tells them- eating.

It has been legal in Minnesota and SD for DECADES.:(
Apparently it has NOT Yet been written off in WI. There is a website called www.dontshootthecat.com
it will give you the latest updates.
Disgusting isn't the word for this......unreal and yet think what a disposable society we have become so I guess nothing should surprise us anymore. Here is my newest fur son laying on his pile of blankets and towels on top of my desk....safe at long last.. and above all he is loved.
DEar Lord.. what has the human race sunk to if they think that an innocent fur child has no worth or value except to be shot.
Blessings,
Deb

This is an OUTRAGE!!!!! This is also the first I've heard of anything so cruel and barbaric. Actually, I can't think of words to adequately express my thoughts. It would be so much better to trap and neuter instead of a slaughter just because these kittys don't have homes or are lost, or whatever. Obviously the ****** supporting this bill have never had a pet and have never known what joy and love they bring to us. Maybe the best we can do is bury them in letters, e-mails, and make so many phone calls to the statehouse that their phone system will crash.
FOR THE ANIMALS!

Go to that website www.dontshootthecat.com
Yes it is indeed an outrage....it is a sin and a crime.. but what is even more shocking is that is has been LEGAL for DECADES in Minnesota and SD.
All 3 of my Fur Sons are right here with me. One on my desk.. one on the windowsill an done in front of the heater.. and my fur daughter upstairs.. all surely would have been marked for death.
If we could all unite and write or something.. this CANNOT be allowed to pass.
Cats are the brunt of peoples hatred....animals in general are the brunt of peoples hatred... it makes them feel big, important and powerful to hurt something that is small an dhelpless.
I know that my life has always been blest to have precious animals in my life.. and if I can help stop this I wil.
BLessings and LIght,

Thanks for the website, Mama Kat! I know what you're saying about your little fuzzy buddies. I got Groucho from a small Mom& Pop pet shop when he was all of 7 weeks old. The owner of the shop told me a neighbor's cat had kittens and pleaded with her to take them to her shop for possible adoption. Sad to say Groucho's next stop would be the shelter where this sweetie would have been put down. Before the owner told me this, Groucho had already decided he was going home with me & I was already completely in love with him! Groucho made some rough times a whole lot easier just by being a kitty. What's really sad is anyone who supports the slaughter never had a kitty of their own and probably never know the joy and love we enjoy every day. SAVE THESE KITTYS! THEY CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

Hi, MommaCat! Just got an idea. If you haven't seen it already, check out the post from Denyce on Cat General. There are problems with the administrator at the local SPCA and they're trying to get something done about it. There's an on line petition everyone can sign to protect all the animals at this shelter. (Please consider signing once you've seen it) Maybe this is something that can be done through Pet Talk to these lawmakers. Might be worth checking into. What do you think?

Hi Momcat!
Is that shelter NOT a NO KILL?
DEar God.... Our precious little SPCA IS a No KILL shelter.
We had one precious little fur child named SLinky there for 15months. The President of our Board has adopted her.. and Slinky is now SYLVIA and ruling the roost. Apparently she plays with her pet parents dogs.... but I htink they all buckle under to Slinky who is a long haired Blk White Tuxedo.... She is a sweet child.
I will be sure to look at that petition.
We are blest to have a wonderful director. When my Morgan was hit by a car and left for dead until animal control found him and then called the shelter.... he was sent to an orthopedic specialist near Richmond. There is a cap that each animal is allowed for health care. The director's husband paid for MOrgan's extra care out of his own pocket. We are so blest.... and I thank God in heaven that animal control called our little SPCA and brought him in.... SOmeone's throw away as trash is now my priceless treasure along with my other three.
Many Blessings,
Mommacat.... Deb

Honey,
You are preachin to the choir on this one.
I said to a friend that if this happens.. why not shoot Homeless People. They too live on the streets.. forage for food in the trash..use the streets for the bathroom, sleep in boxes etc. This whole issue makes me physically ill.
Blessings,

It's the same thing Sylvia.
If you are going to make it legal to shoot homeless cats... better shoot homeless dogs and homeless people too.
Shoot anyone and anything that is homeless and wandering the streets aimlessly.. looking for a warm bed and a scrap of food to eat!
Thisis not settled...if it passes... what does it say about howlow the human race has sunk.
