Dear Maggie, 4-5-05
I wanted to write a letter telling you how much you mean to us. We met you in July and fell in love with you the first time that I laid my eyes on you. You came out of the shelter and into the play area all happy and all legs. You were so tiny and skinny but still so happy and came right up to me. From the moment that I saw you I knew that you would have a loving home for the rest of your life. Lilly played and sniffed, and you had the best time. I went in to fill out some papers and heard you howl for the first time, broke my heart really, but I know that you were soon coming home.
The jeep ride home wasn’t really fun, getting sick and all. The second day you were home Lilly was a little jealous but you won her over. You were a sick puppy I soon found out but I fixed you right up as quickly as I could. You brighten my day’s when they are gray, and you make me smile when I really don’t want to. Your such a good girl I wish that I could give you more. Your turning 1 today, I’m glad that I could make your first year of life so much better for you, I’m glad that you came into our lives so our lives as well could be rekindled. We will share so many more great times together but for now I wanted you to know that you’ve help me so much and you are so much fun. Your full of so much love and joy, we are blessed to have you and I’m so glad that we met and now we’re a family. Lilly, you and I…a family…my family! I love you, happy first Birthday and many more to come!!!
