Snowball is my cats name!

I put a flea collar on her for 2 days & it irriatated her neck so I took it off but she was scratching her neck so much she got a sore place on it . I fixed her a bandanna to put around her neck so she could not scratch the sore area & so far it has worked plus she does not mind it to much .At least this way it well have time to heal & not make a bigger area by scratching .

Has anyone else had problems with flea collars ?

I thank I well just get controll or some kind of fles meds at our vets & then I know she well be ok . I thought it would be easier because the collar last 3 mos & the flea med you put on every month. Just because it is easier for you ,it might not be best for your pets.

Hi there....
My cat, Wobble, cannot tollerate any kind of collar around his nexk. We had him microchipped instead of the normal collar and tag, and also flea collars, I have ound, are not really that good. We used them in the sanctuary for a while and they irritated quite a few of the cats.
Front Line.....which you can get from the vets......is really good. Although its more expensive than the collars, it lasts up to 6 months so if you work it out, it does make it cheaper.
Its just a few drops of liquid which you place at the nape of the animals neck and really does work well.

I detest flea collars. Nasty things full of nasty ingredients that the cats end up ingesting while they are cleaning themselves. Everytime I find a "stray" with one of those things on it comes off and the cat goes home without it. We use either Frontline or Advantage. I think it is Frontline that we have for the dog right now.

Flea collars are hazardous. Frontline, Advantage or Revolution are all Rx flea treatments from the vet; once a month, minimal problems with side-effects for most animals.
