My new foster is so fearful. We are keeping everything low key, but when he seems to get sensory overload he spins.

It seems like he is in constant motion very seldom laying down. I'm trying to ignore when he's obviously fearful and praising him when he calms down.

He's a wonderful little guy. What else can I do to help him?

That would be Samson? He's a cutie.:) I think I would do some
leash walking with him. Help him work off his energy in a good way & bond a little with him at the same time. Poor guy is probably still a little confused about what's going on in his life.

My friends Border Collie used to spin constantly when she was hyper or when she was frustrated/in the backyard. Just try to exercise him as much as possible, practice all of the obedience commands (including stay, settle, and watch), and expose him to as much as possible... whatever he likes most, tennis balls, treats, or a special toy, play with that or have him focus on that when you feel a hypersensitive overload coming on. That helped the BC a lot, she was one of the most neurotic dogs I've ever met ^_~

Was he kept caged or crated a lot before you got him?
