I went to a cat show and fell inlove with the exotic short haired persians and I plan to own one someday. Here are some of the photos from the show. First is the only hairless cat that was there and he is a blue and white......awsome!

Next is a persian that the owner wouldn't allow anyone to touch her but isn't she a beauty :)

This is a calico persian that I just thought was drop dead gorgeous.

Touching cats at a cat show is a big NO NO. You may think that the owner is being snotty but there have been too many tragic happenings where cats at a show got something that was passed from cat to cat by being handled. Watch how careful the judges are to wash hands and disinfect the tables between cats.

I've been to lots of shows and worked for someone who was showing some of her seven meezers.

Oh I know I totally understood how she was that way and if I was showing any type of animal I wouldn't allow anyone to touch them either so I did not think she was being snotty at all. I am a health freak when it comes to my animals so I know you got to be careful and actually that impressed me when she was that way. The lady with the hairless was the same way. It shows how much they care for their animals IMO.

I love to show it is always great fun! To meet all the people that come to look at the cats and other breeder. But just to walk around and look at all the cats groomed to show off why and what the breed is suppose to look like. You see the best of the breed and then you understand why they have the breed standards and see how your cats you are show meet those standards. All breeding cats should be a Champion. But the peope who grand and have regional winners really put out alot of money to get those titles. I know from experince that you have a cat that meets the standards and would even grand but they do not like the travel or the show hall. And are very unhappy being there. But when you get a cat that is put together and has the show personality there could be nothing to stop that cat in the show ring. As for touching the cats there I do make exceptions, there are times when you have to let someone touch and pet your cat. I keep a hand sanitizer with me for that. A wonderful old gentleman in a wheel chair talk to me about all the wonderful cats he saw but could not touch. So had him clean his hands and put I put Moses in his lap. Moses is a very gentle high white cameo with a very gental soul. The smile on his face made the whole weekend worth the trip. Moses sat with him for over 5 minutes and they just looked into each others eyes. He left a very happy man indeed. Rules are to be broken at times. And I will break them because I know that a cat should be held and petted and some just will not get the chance to do so. His daughter later came back and thank me and I told her it did more for me than it did for him. Well as usual I can run on. But if you visit a cat show also remember the vendors. What great things they have to see and buy. I love it.
