My grandmother has a female BC, Boots, that needs to be rehomed. Ever since my grandfather died last year, my grandmother has had a hard time keeping Boots. The final straw was when a pack of coyotes cornered my grandmother and Boots on their walk yesterday. Please help us find a good home (preferably a working ranch) for Boots.

It sure sounds like your grandmother needs more that a BC around to keep her safe from the Coyotes!!

I hope Boots finds a wonderful home, and I hope your grandmother stays safe!

Thank you, Aly. That might be who I am thinking of. Whoever it was, they lived near my in-laws. My in-laws livein Shingle Springs. My grandmother hasn't called anyone yet. She had been thinking about it and she just officially made this decision. I told her I'd remembered someone who did BC rescue and I'd help her.

Aly, her email address didn't work. Do you have another?

Oh, I wish I could help, but one BC in our house is quite enough, lol!:D

Tonya -

I did some poking around and couldn't find another email address. I did search for her name on Yahoo people search and a phone number came up though. You might want to do that, although I'm not sure if she'd get mad about that or not. Probably not I would assume.

wow, Shingle Springs is 5 minutes away from me! I don't know if she's house-trained or good with kids or dogs, but I would be willing to foster her if no home or foster is found in time. We have a big yard and she'd be vigorously exercised daily and trained while she was here. I could get her posted on NCBCR if you want, or if you could just send them a picture and info they'd post her up there! Please LMK if I can help, we'd even be willing to transport her if needed, Tonya... any other info? how old is she?

That is so cool of you! That sounds like the perfect solution so I hope you guys can work something out.

I'm kinda far away, but lemme know if I can do anything to help.

Thank you. I don't think it's really an emergency enough that my grandmother would want her to be fostered. I don't think my grandmother wants Boots moved around if she doesn't have to. I'm sure she wouldn't mind waiting patiently until Boots gets the perfect home. -She's made it a year with just her and Boots. One of the problems is that my grandmother is having to leave the country and leave town quite often because of personal things. Boots is constantly in boarding since my grandfather died. I'm going to bed right now, but I'll check those links out and talk to her tomorrow. Thank you for your help.

that's good! I wasn't totally sure if this was an urgent placement, or just trying to find a more suitable home. Good luck with Boots! I'm sure NCBCR will be willing to help you out... I think National BC Rescue (http://bcrescue.org) has boards that you can post adoptable dogs on, also.
