My Doxie just died on sunday, he had intestinal torsion and died very quickly. Has anyone else heard about this happening to Doxies before? I've heard about it briefly when learning about my Black Lab, but Doxie wasn't one that I heard of at risk for such a problem. We have 2 other (they are actually my parents dogs - and my ziggy's parents) and i'm worried abut them now.

I miss my ziggy, see his stupid grin at http://home.ptd.net/~annal/images/ziggy.JPG

I'm so sorry to hear about your Ziggy! :(

I have two doxies and no, I'd never heard of that happening with them. I'll have to check into it. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Torsion is more likely to occur in large, deep chested breeds. However, it can happen to any dog, even a toy breed. It's symptoms are something every dog owner should be aware of.
