We went to the SPCA and bailed out Sugar Plum on Wednsday! :) She is absolutely gorgeous, and the most perfect cat in the world... I can't believe she's actually home! We met her the weekend before last, but she hadn't even been spayed so they told us she'd be ready the following Saturday. We visited her that Thursday after her spay and played with her for an hour, then we went back to the SPCA on Saturday to pick her up, but they had given her to someone else that morning! We were really shocked, and discouraged, as it already seemed like she was "our" kitty, we loved her to pieces. She had been removed from the website, so we assumed she was happily in a new home. We just went back on Wednsday, and met two cats.. they were both sweet girls, but not anything like Sugar Plum. I was looking through a window into one of the "cat colony" rooms, and I saw her little head poke out of a cat tree. Her papers weren't up yet, but I knew it was her! :) She ran over and mewed at us until we picked her up and cuddled her.. of course we adopted her right away.
What is incredibly wierd, is that the SPCA said the people who adopted her Saturday morning before us brought her back the very next day with no explanation.... we have NO idea why. She meowed the whole way home in her crate, but the second we let her out she just ran right up to us purring and wanting to be held. She did not hide for a second, she acted like she owned the place (which she does). She has used her litter box perfectly, my Mom just put the cover on it and she has had no problems at all, she eats like a horse, and she loves her little cat tree. No destruction, spraying, agression, or being anything but the perfect sweetheart. My Mom is in love with her :)! My mom works at home 3 days a week, and Sugar Plum just sits on her lap purring while she's on the computer. She also loves tummy rubs, her window perch, and plays with all of her toys, and she just discovered catnip! Her turn-in form said that she was found by some people as a stray... which is unbelievable!
Anyway, I wanted to tell you all that she's home because I've been posting about this for a while... I took tons of pictures Wednsday night, but my dad just brought in the only computer that can upload from my camera to get a new fan :(. I promise they'll be up soon! She is such a doll!! We're trying to decide between the names Lola or Chiquita.. we're leaning towards Lola ;). She is white with brown, marbly tabby patches and some cream mixed in, and she has reall pretty, big green eyes. It'll be very interesting to see how she and Gonzo get along... they probably won't meet for a couple weeks, just eating on separate sides of a door and being able to smell each other. I know Gonzo will love her :D
