What happens to the turkeys that the president reprieves? I thought this story would end with an ending like the Twilight Zone episode, "To Serve Man." However, this story has a much sadder ending.
Read the National Geographic story. Then read the John Stossel story for the blunt version of the turkey's fate.
Even in the National Geographic story there is the strange line "For the presidential pair, their road trip to the White House is where the good life begins."
