:D :D :D

Nipo sat in my Dad's lap...and LIKED IT! :eek: This is highly unusual behavior for the Nippopotamus. My Dad (a.k.a. her favorite person in the whole world!) has been picking her up and putting her in his lap for pets, but until today she would only stay there for maybe 30 seconds at a time. However, today she practically fell asleep and had no intention of going anywhere! I think they were both asleep for a few minutes there. ;)

That is wonderful,that Nipo,is becoming attached,to your Dad,who must be a Fine Genleman,for Nipo,to want,to spend time there.Cats,can always tell,who the Good People are.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news..BUT, maybe Nipo was COLD? He he he...your dad is in pants and long sleeved shirts. I thought you guys lived in HAWAII?

Just kidding about the bad news. I hope Nipo now realizes laps are the place to be!


still wondering about Hawaii and the tempature...

Awwwwwwwwe!!! There is nothing like the feeling when the cat finally gives in and becomes a lap buddy!!!:)
Nippo is GORGEOUS and so cute and snuggly all curled up sleeping in dad's lap. I love the "swivel" ear picture!!:D :D

What a pretty girl Nipo is. :) And that little canary(?) in your siggy is such a beautiul color! :eek: I think your dad may find himself doing some serious snuggling quite soon! ;)

She certainly looks comfy on his lap and I suspect she is on her way to becoming a *lap fungus*!!:D

What a treat for your dad!! I am also picking up Lizzie for short periods of time but she can't wait for me to let go of her!! At least she doesn't claw and bite anymore!!

Awww... see, miracles happen. My Abby was the same way. She will only sit on my lap while I'm at the computer though. Go figure.

You BUBBLE BURSTER, you! :p Okay, I'll tell you the temp only if you promise not to laugh....the last few days we've had lows in the mid- to high-60s and that's enough to get thin-skinned Hawaiians allll bundled up. Okay, okay, you can laugh now. :D We've had two or three days in a row now where the temperature didn't reach 80 and that is quite rare in these parts. But, I reject your theory...she's been asking to get in his lap every time he's sat in his armchair since Saturday and I foresee this behavior continuing. We'll see who is right in the end... ;)

Thanks for sharing in the joy of our new lap fungus! :D The only possible downside is that now she has one more thing she can persistently yowl about....and boy is she persistent!!! This girl has lungs like a Siamese! :eek: Hehehe...gotta love her!

She sounds wonderful, Kate!!! :) I can remember the first time Butter jumped in my lap and laid down. OMG! I was so happy, I had to come post at Pet Talk about it!! :) He still isn't a true lap cat, but he will get comfy in our laps on occasion and the thrill is still there for me!!! :)
