When I first saw the question, and the choices for answers, I thought "WHAT ARE PEEPS?" :confused:

But then I scrolled down and read your message about marshmallow peeps, so now I know what you are talking about.:o

But I still can't answer your poll, because I haven't eaten any in so many years I forgot what they taste like! And I'm on a diet, so I don't plan on trying one now.:rolleyes:

So I guess my best answer to your poll would be either "still in the store on the shelf" or "in someone else's home" or "anywhere that I can't get to them".:D

I like them slighly fresh to a little stale. Once I bought a package and it was just WAY too fresh! Normally you'd think that it's a good thing but it was just gross. I had to let them sit out for a while before I could consume them.

I prefer fresh but will eat them any way I can get my hands on them! :p It wouldn't be Easter without them! :D

I eat maybe one per year, which is plenty.

My brother-in-law looooves peeps, we used to get him some whenever we saw them. Yellow ones, pink ones, blue ones - chick-shaped, bunny-shaped ...

But he is now diabetic, so no peep-overload for him this year!

Wanna see something funny? Microwave a peep! They swell up amazingly quickly. It's only good for the visual effect, though, because then they're too hot to eat ... and then really sticky-messy.

OK, so if you want to get any enjoyment out of them at all but you don't want to eat them, stick them in the microwave and enjoy the show, THEN throw them in the garbage can (when they are cooled off enough)!:D

Sorry, but I couldn't locate the other little vomiting critter, so I used that rather gross one. :rolleyes: Not a fan of peeps, but only tried them once.

Go stale! Yes they are great for the bored college student. I also like to roast them over fires. MMMmmmm. I usually forget about them for a few months then find them in the never used cookie jar, stale as can be. They are more like lucky charms marshmallows that way. I can't eat fresh marshmallows or I get sick.

I looove Peeps! I wouldn't say I prefer them "stale" as when I think of things being stale they have a nasty aftertaste. But I do like them better when they've sat for a bit and are harder not so soft and squishy.

LOL... stale food DOES sound odd. When Peeps are fresh, they are just too sickeningly sweet (and gooey). When they are stale, they take on a mellower flavor, and a much better texture.

And I don't know if I'd call it stale --- just not as fresh! :D I usually buy a pack, rip the cellophane and let them sit exposed to the air overnight. The next day they are PERFECT.

None of you know how to eat a peep. They need to be AGED.

Just the same way that you would age a fine cheese or wine.

They need to sit for several weeks until they develop a crust!
(now that ought to gross you out:D )

Then you sit down and very slowly enjoy every single sugar morsel and the incredible chewiness of the marshmallow.

Why now that you point that out... you are right! From now on I'll politely remind my family that my Peeps are Aged and not Stale! :D

This brought back memories...my mother...may she rest in peace had to bring packages and packages of those disgusting things over to my kids every easter. It was funny because my daughter called them chicken pocks! I can't remember why....
