I was so touched, reading your human's heartfelt tribute to her/his best bud! The deep bond of friendship you share with your lifelong guardian is what doggie love is all about!:) Through thick and thin, good times and bad, it is you who has been there by her/his side to put a smile on her and joy in her heart! I'll bet it's hard being apart, even for a bit! But how sweet those long distance phone calls must be (yay for speakerphones!:D) and how cherished those visits home! Oh Bean, let me tell you something and it's the honest truth: You've given me such a smile and brightened my whole afternoon up! It's obvious, by your loving mom's description, that this is a Bean effect :D. So now we have a new term. The Bean effect: To place a happy silly grin upon one's face and brighten up the day :). I'm a strong believer that God sends you special pets down to people who need them most, and that there is no greater gift than this pure, unconditional, devoted love. Though it is oh so hard to be apart, the visits home must be all that much more poignant and special, and before long you'll be together all the time again. It is hard to put into words how very special and precious our furkids are, but your mom did a wonderful job Bean.

I hope you have an especially wonderful day today, with lots of treats and celebration. Your human must be so thrilled and proud today! Congratulations Bean, our wonderful, goofy, devoted Dog of the Day, and dog of a lifetime!

Well, I see I wasn't the only one to be especially touched by Miss Bean.

Reading between the lines of the presentation, I noted how much our college girl misses the Beaner. I'll bet there are plenty of days where she could use a good dose of Bean to alleviate the stress of school.

For what it is worth, the name *Bean* seems to appear fairly spontaneously with my fur kids, along with their given one, so Hannah is often referred to as Hannah Bean. And for those notes from home, some dogs just have the ability to *channel* their words to the folks with fingers, but really you can rest assured the message is indeed from Bean.

Congratulations and much love to our Dog of the Day. I just wish I could bestow a kiss on each precious spot.
