Hello,
As you know I'm searching for a rat cage, I really like the Martins 695 a lot, but it will be expensive to ship so before I dish out all that money I want to look around. Well today I went into Super Pet and they have an Identical cage to a 695 except the wire is galivanized or they called it stainless steel. I know powder coated is what is recommended and I was curious as to the differences. I asked the woman there and she said there is no where to get it powder coated and the company that sells them can't do it soooo..... Just wondering the differnced cuz this identical cage is a GREAT price... Thanks in advance. I will ask on Goosemoose as well. :p

Powdercoated cages are much easier to clean and they do not smell as bad. Galivanized cages absorb the urine and the wire starts to corrode and stink- they are much harder to clean.

Powdercoated is the way to go.

Yup. And the smell starts just about as soon as it gets wet, amost right away, its like a yucky urine/feces/rusty/metalic/strong smell.
