Just a question,my mom and some other people found a female Pit mix this morning.They called all the rescues in our area,but NO ONE wouldnt take her because she's a Pit mix:mad:My mom said she's a very sweet girl.soo my question is,does the Houston Humane Society adopt out Pit mixes?They had no other choice,so they had to take her to the SPCA.:( My mom said what she's a light tan & white colour.

Call them and ask. I doubt that anyone here on the board will know.

The Houston Humane Society does not adopt out Pit Bulls, neither does the Houston SPCA or the city and county animal controls, no matter how sweet and friendly they are. There are very few places in Houston that will, except of course the Pit Bull rescue and a couple of smaller foster groups, like the one I foster/volunteer with. Because of their new policy of only excepting owner turn-ins, the SPCA no longer holds strays, they send them to the A/Cs after someone brings in a stray. :( Their policies are very upsetting, but at least the dog is off of the streets.
