I'll be a nurse today like the one at Pleasure Island. If I remember correctly, she hands out syringes of Jello shooters. So, I'll be here in my nurse's uniform waiting for anyone that wants a "shot". My favorite ones are the lime Jello with Tokillya in them.

Can I have a pink slushie? Flavor doesn't matter as long as it's not peach (YUCK). Of course, *typically* peach colored would be peach flavored but you never know WHAT you're getting yourself into, here at Thursdays. ;)

Shhh... don't tell mom but I'm going to look at a h-o-r-s-e this afternoon... :D

A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

Mairzy doats and dozy doats
and liddle lamzy divey,
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

If the words sound queer and funny to your ear,
A little bit jumbled and jivey,
Sing, "Mares eat oats and does eat oats,
and little lambs eat ivy."

Oh! Mairzy doats and dozey doats

A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

Tornados, mudslides, earthquakes, volcanos...ok, remind me why California is so special....besides the fact that it has Richard. :p My boyfriend wants us to move there because that's where he grew up. So far, Cali hasn't won any brownie points with me. ;)

I'll have a purple slushie with a shot of...something good and strong.

Connie, are you keeping Mario safe during this snow? If you get the snow we are getting, it's the good kind to get: big fluffy flakes that melt as soon as they land! Our ground is already wet so the snow isn't sticking. It will most likely resemble a skating rink after dark when the temp drops below freezing though.

Mario is mad because he can't make a snowman. He's in the back room making one out of cotton balls. :D

Actually, there are volcanoes in very-Northern California in Shasta County - Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen. When I was a kid we used to spend our summers up there on my aunt's farm in Cottonwood. I have many fond memories of the tours my parents would take us kids on through all that volanic land - Ma Nature sure comes up with some amazing stuff!

Well, technically, Mt. St. Helen's is in Worshington - but you can see her flat top from here.

Our Cascade range is the one that ends with Mt Shasta to the south and its had its share of volcanos - but right now they're all naked because the snow that should be on them is actually rain in Richard's back yard.

Let's see - I don't have to worry about hurricanes, tornados, high humidity, too hot summers, freezing cold temperatures, big bugs, flash floods, or a host of other natural disasters. If my biggest worry is a pesky volcano - I'll get by.;)

zippy-kat

NM has volcanoes! Yup, we sure do!
And Chili's has volcanoes... no wait, it's Chocolate Molten Lava Cake which is even better. Mmmm chooooocccoooolllaaattteeee....

Well, if and when the h-o-r-s-e happens, it'll be a MRS. PhrED. lol  I found two that I really liked. One's not as pretty but has a heart of gold... draw back is she's in foal (didn't really want two) and they don't know if she's been ridden before (long story). The other one is STUNNING and rideable but independent and might not bond as closely as the first.

I don't know. :( I doubt my abilities to care for one; i know how to ride/show but that's ALL I know. I've never actually had to care/feed/water/vet one before...

But the price is right and I am ohhhh so tempted! ;)

Zippy, I think you could make it just fine! I knew nothing about them when I bought Flair. He was 10 months old. I trained him myself. It just takes a lot of work and dedication. I would love to have some property and get a brood mare. I think that would be so rewarding. I would keep them all, of course.
Also, nurse checking in to see if anyone needs to be medicated. I know I do!! I wish I had some of those shots. Work was so crazy today.

I'm worried about Gini. Anyone heard from her? :( Maybe all that Cali rain has her up half the night pumping out the basement.....please check in when you can girl!

Edit: never mind....Gini emailed me at my work address (I'm at home now). She's OK, just trying to keep the basement dry.

No snow or rain here - just beautiful sunshine and 60 degree weather. But the chili is still delicious.

Speaking of windows, we were having a new sliding glass door installed at my house today. "Were" is the operative word for the day. We told the original person "this is not a standard window size - meausre carefully."

Later we looked at his measurements and didn't like what we saw so we called the company to send out another person to measure again.

Well, guess what isn't the right size today. Fortunately, they did the measuring so its their error, not ours.

What is it with window people measuring incorrectly? They do this for a living, you'd think they'd know what they were doing? My mom went through this exact same thing. They had almost every window in their house replaced except the HUGE front windows that go from floor to ceiling. The way the rest of them turned out it's a godsend that they decided to wait on the big ones. It was almost an entire year before every window was correct and in place, and some of them were never correct, my parents just got sick of fighting with the contractor and the window people about it. I don't know how many times the windows had to be remade, and the window people ended up paying for one of those concrete sill thingys that they swore would still be able to be used, but the contractor broke it while installing one of thee windows that didn't fit properly. My mom says it's a good thing that she won't be around the next time the house needs windows!

Anyway, I'm really ready for some of that chili right now! It snowed here for a bit, but it stopped now. I'm starving and the boss is still here to aggrivate me, so how about a couple slushies with that chili.....thanks. :D

Green shots for all who wants them. That's the only kind of shot I like. They seem to be the favorite here. I wish I had five inches of snow here! It wouldn't last long but it sure would be pretty while it was here. I did get to see the ugly part of snow while I was in Maryland, though. I couldn't believe how high they could get it piled up and how dirty it looked. So, at least my fantasy of snow got a little reality.

Well, I'm back from hell, ready for a few more slushies. :D

Hell wasn't as bad as I expected - whew!

Mmm...Laurie, I forgot about the cheese and onions on my chili. Think I'll have a second bowl when I get home - I'm still at work. That way I have two computers to work on for the test, and no distractions such as cutie pie kitties....or fighting kitties....or...or...FOOOD! Can't wait to get home and EAT!!! :D

Wish we had to shut down today because of the snow. Nothing better than a snow storm and being home and snuggled in with the critters.:D

Sun at night time KYS? Where are you anyway, land of the midnight sun? Curiouser and curiouser but bring on the tostadas, they go ever so nicely with the guac dip and chili. Schools in the area are off again today due to icy roads but Feds are working so I guess we can all rest easy  yeah, right :p By the way, anyone up for some "fruit salad"? Richard? hehehehe

Good morning everyone. Laurie, fruit salad sounds good but could I have cherries instead of melons please? :D ;)

Debbie, when do you get the results? I'm sure it will be a winning score.

David, good luck at the docs.

I'm in meetings most of the day today so won't be around much. Have fun guys.

I think it's Wendys that is now offering fresh fruit fast....

Slick, I won't find out for two weeks, and by that time I'll be hot and heavy into the next class, but I really don't think I did bad. The one good thing the insructor did is give us a good study sheet for the exam. Even if you only glanced at the study sheet you would have done good, but since I actually studied it because I had not clue what was going on during the class, I actually think I did ok on the class. Might end up with a good solid C. But I don't care as long as I pass and don't have to take the class over again.....and pay for it again!

So today's Friday, the best day of the week! The Feds are working so I guess everything is right with the world. Hmm....maybe they should have more snow days......if someone gets a giant snow machine and parks it right over DC, maybe we can effectively stiffle them for the next 4 years so they don't screw the country up too bad.

Oops, sorry, no politics allowed. :o Guess I'll have the good old standby of a coke over ice with a straw in a McDonald's cup. Nothing like being particular about your coke. ;) :D

Hope everyone has a good day! Hopefully my crazed boss will stay away and I can finally get to posting some CJ pics. :D

:D :D

Hey you CA people...what big silver thing in the sky? Terry and I have been watching UFO stories on cable TV (forgot what channel) and last week they were talking about alien abductions. I missed the Peter Jennings special last night because of my trip to hell, but it really seems like UFO's are in the news again lately - what gives? Are they planning another mass assault on us?

Oh, and you may all not know this, but Terry actually is an alien - really! He was born in 1947 when his space craft crashed in Roswell. I knew something was up because the last couple trips in the motorhome his alien buddies have been tracking him. Started out only in WI, but when we went to Texas they followed us the whole way down and the whole way back! So they must be planning something big. As long as they leave Terry alone and don't make him go back to Ork...or wherever it is he came from. ;) :D

PS - a small explanation - the CB in the motorhome started beeping in WI on one trip. Just a steady beep about every 30 seconds or so. Stopped when we hit the state line, until our last trip. Usually I can block it out, but sometimes it is quite aggravating, but even then, nooooo...heaven forbid we turn the thing off.....

Laurie, got any of that chili left? It's always better the second day and I'm starving! :D

02-25-2005, 01:16 PM
Let me heat some chili up for you. The 2nd day is better alright if you like it extra hot. Those chili peppers have a way of becoming even more potent with time I think. Just the excuse needed for another slushie ;) Enough of these and we'll ALL be seeing purple people eaters :p

Hi, everyone!

I will admit to believing in ufos. I've seen several. They seem to like me. When I was about 10, one sunny summer day, I looked up and saw a row of shiny silver balls floating in the sky. There was about 5 of them and they flew the same distance apart. I dare a weather balloon to fly in formation!

I've seen other ufos off and on since then, even in our boring town.

Could I get a taco salad and cherry vanilla root beer? oh and the usual cat nip teas for the gang!

Mario, did slick say you could put your paw in her jar of cherries?
:D

Well, one meeting over and another one starting at 1:30pm. Don't these people know that I have better things to do, like cyber-drink???

One large slushy please and thanks for the burrito. Maybe I'll have some chili for lunch.

Never seen a UFO myself...no wait, I stand corrected. Last summer I was sitting around the table in Gini's back yard and after a few slushies too many I swore I saw one fly by....or was that a parrot...:D

Hey....two months ago today we were opening Christmas presents....

Slick, my head is spinning! Maybe it's all the slushies I've had, but I think it's all those UFOs!!

Unidentified Fried Object - snicker. Sounds like something you'd find in the deep South. ;) :D

Unidentfied Floral Organs? I thought this was a family site!?

This is what you do while you're in meetings at work? I want to go to a meeting like that. :D

One more slushy for me please. Green, with big eyes please. :D

lbaker; I guess I should have worded it differently.
The sun was long gone by the time I posted. :D

Today was interesting.
The weather people stated: No rain till Monday, and not
the heavy rains we have been experiencing.
Sun was out, blue skys and than all of the
sudden this afternoon out of nowhere was a
Thunder storm full of lightening, hail and pouring
rain. Wow! What a shocker that are weather
reporters are wrong. They sure did not
forsee this storm.

This is what you do while you're in meetings at work? :D :D I WISH!! Actually, the meetings were over and I was winding down for the day.
KYS: I hate to brag but I've been wearing shorts up here for the last month, in fact, this morning I had my moon roof open on the way to work. **ducks** Don't hit me... We are supposed to have sunshine and 50 deg F for the next few days, then rain which is our typical weather for this time of year.

So here it is, another Friday night and I'm home on Pet Talk. One bucket of slushies, coming up. :D

Slick, your post in the BBQ thread reminded me that I needed to listen to your Thursday Page!

Too funny! Is that really you? You do so many accents so well! :D :D

Now, send a bucket of those slushies this way, we've got a good movie for the night and slushies would go perfect with popcorn! :D

Hey all.....I just got back from a family birthday dinner at a restaurant. Just have to relate this story...

I've finished my meal and everyone else is almost done. I flip through the leaflet where they list the special drinks of the day. I flip through Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, then I read......

Get Slushed Thursday

I burst into a fit of laughter and everyone one asked me what was so funny. Just couldn't bring myself to tell.

Is it true that Pet Talk follows me everywhere I go???? :D :D
