My mom got a call from someone saying that these two dogs owners moved out about two weeks ago and left them. The male died last night and my mom went to get the female, it's so sad how she looks!:(
I snapped some pictures of her! She is just the sweetest thing too, I went in the laundry room, where we are keeping her and she peed at first(she's scared). I started to pet and talk to her, she then started to give me kisses and crawled into my lap!
I feel so bad, how can anyone do this!? grrr I wish I could lock these people in a room for two weeks!

Poor sweetheart. :( I swear the human race makes me sick. You should be very careful not to allow her to gorge on food or water as her system could really get messed up. Bloat from wolfing down large quantities all at once could be fatal. Tiny meals all day is the safest way to help build her up again. It would be great if she went to the vets for a day or two of intravenous fluids to help nourish that bony thin body. Please keep us updated, and I'm so happy you saved her life, and so sad her mate died.:(
I don't understand how someone can abanden their
pets and leave them to starve.
What a horrible way to die.
Bless your family for taking this girl in.

Poor dear Essy, at least now she is safe. What a sweet face she's got. The former owners should be tracked down and charged with cruelty to animals.

Omg that poor sweet dog! Thank God for people like you and your mom. I do NOT understand how anyone could do that to another living thing. The human race can be so evil at times.
Please keep us updated on that beautiful girl.

we have her on pediatric electrlytes instead of water and my mom is making her chicken and rice. We're going to give a little bit to her every six hours(not tonight, but tomorrow, so basically 4 times a day). Right now she's laying down about to go to sleep, so I just left her alone. She seems more comfortable now, I just hope she'll make it. I'm sure my mom is going to take her to the vet, I don't know when.. but I bet she'll stay there for awhile.
edit: my mom says she's going to start feeding her at midnight

Thank you so much for taking that sweet girl in. I am so sad that the other dog didn't make it :( :( :(
Please keep us updated on how she is doing. I will be sending lots of prayers :(

Thank you and your mom for saving this baby. I don't understand why it took two weeks for someone to finally call about the dogs. I also don't know the laws in your town, but where I'm from it is illegal to abandon your pets like that. Essy didn't get in this condition in 2 weeks either so y'all need to report this to the local animal control or humane society and the police. These owners need to be tracked down and charged. Since you have pics of her condition that is the most valuable evidence against these a-holes. Maybe even some pics of the dead male if possible and pics of the condition of the place they came from. Before I even saw the pics I knew for some reason it had to be a Pit Bull. I think when you said she crawled into your lap and covered you in kisses even though she was scared is what gave it away. Good luck with this baby.

I knew I shouldn't have looked while I'm here at work as now I'm typing through tears. Bless both of you for having the caring hearts to give her the love and attention she needs. There are a lot of people that don't even deserve to be called human. I would like to do a lot more than lock those inhumane idiots in a room
How's she doing with her eating today?

Yes, we know that it was more than two weeks for this to happen, but we know that if was two weeks ago she was abandoned.
We are reporting them, we have their address and the pictures, we took Essy to the humane society today to see what they think, they said she was probably pregnant or full of worms!:(
She's going to the vet tomorrow.

I pray Essy's not pregnant to top it all off. The growing pups will do her in, but spaying her now will do her in as well. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. :( (((HUGS))) to you and your mom for caring for this sweet looking girl, and sending lots of prayers tht she's going to thrive and blossom with good treatment. Glad those pieces of excrement are being reported. ;)

Oh I'm so glad that Essy is doing ok. I have NOT been able to get her off my mind. I'm so glad you are reporting the owners for what they did. They deserve to be punished!! That is so sad that she was either pregnant or that full of worms. I tell you, it truly breaks my heart.:( Thanks for keeping us posted on how she is doing.

The vet gave her the weakest dewormer but they aren't sure if she even has worms, they didn't want to take a chance.

None of them have really met, Maggie saw her over the baby gate, when we let her run around the kitchen and Poppy and Lily had a run in with her when they were outside but nothing really happened, Lily and Poppy swatted and she came in the house with us.

I hope Essy pulls through and gets better. When I got my Pittie Kosmo he was in the same state as Essy. She needs lots of TLC. Thank God there are kind hearted people in this world to take animals in when they need it the most. I don't understand how someone could just abandone their pet, its unreal and very upsetting.
Keep us posted on how she's doing. Wish all the best to all of you. Kosmo and Cuddles give her lots of hugs and kisses.

This makes me want to CRY!! HOW do people walk away and leave a animal like that, knowing it is going to starve to death!! I have a few choice names for those people!!!
THANK GOD your Mama got her in time. Give your Mom hugs for me and tell her THANKS from Heaven are on their way. God see all and your Mom will be blessed...

I hate to say it, but I have almost given up on counting on the justice system to deal with these people......just give me five minutes alone with 'em (call me farmboy, hillbilly, or whatever else....but)

She's doing good, we're trying to get her pic on PBRC and a lady that does pit rescue in Georgia offered to take her(But we're rethinking that because of ban they are trying to pass, we're still talking to her though), another one offered to help place her too.
