How are your dogs with kids?

Both mine are Wonderful!!:D They both love little kids.just because they get so excited when they come running up to them and ask me if they could pet them. The kids always get mad at Kodie because he likes licking your face:p .lol.they go "Hey! ",lol then they laugh:rolleyes: Lucy doesnt get as excited as Kodie, but she still loves them!Kodie and Lucy could play with kids all day if they could:p :D

For the most part, Fabulous! A couple of the shy boys just avoid them, but the rest of them are great with kids. The only problem i've ever had is them knocking over real little ones, never out of meanness, just because they are excited. Earle adores kids, especially toddlers-their faces are just the right height for licking!

Even Kayleigh, who has major issues including aggression, loves kids. I'd never leave her alone with a small child, but I'd never leave any dog alone with a little one. When my nieces come to visit they always want to go see "that big black dog". Last summer, Kayleigh would stand on their sandals and not let them leave until she had received enough petting!

I think the dogs know that kids are easy to get treats out of!:p

Echo LOVES kids! Especially ones in between ages 1 month-4 years:) Tia's kinda shy around all people except those she knows whixh includes kids. Tango is a bit nervous around kids younger than 10 for some reason, she always has been ever since she was a pup.

All three of mine love kids.

Nala and Simba especially love our neighbor's little boy, Charlie. I used to babysit him before they moved away and they LOVED when he came over. :D

It's so great watching Nala around little kids, she's such a big dog but you can see her look out of the corner of her eye when she's running around and playing as not to knock the baby over.

Here's Simba with Ashley, my cousin's baby. (hope you don't mind that I post pics!)
She climbed right over him to get where she's sitting and he didn't mind at all.

Daisy's great with kids. She's very tolerant and gentle, and she's even helped a few overcome their fear of dogs. :)

Molly likes SOME kids (mostly people in my family who she's used to).. but not all. She's not as tolerant, and doesn't like it when strange kids come up and start pestering her (grabbing her fur, trying to pet her, etc). She'd never bite anyone, but I can tell it annoys her.

All three of ours are very good with kids. We have three nephews (youngest was 2 when we got Sadie) and of course Jasmine, who they all met when she was 4 months old (my other neice, on Ralph's side is 18, nit really a kid anymore!). They have also met Katrina, my goddaughter who is 4 and somewhat rough on dogs, but all tolerate her very well.

We actually almost passed on Spot because the shelter had on his petfinder page that he was not good with kids. Boy were they wrong!! He is the favorite at all the libraries we go to for reading programs, and he loves all the kids there!

Face does not like kids, i think it is because he doesnt understand them, he had not been around a small child until my niece but he is always on leash and usually i will just not bring him around, Rita on the other hand she loooves attention no matter who its from, so she is ok with my niece but too large to play with her, she knocked her down once, other than my niece i would not trust either one of them around children especially Face. They wouldnt be mean but they just dont ever socialize with children.,

Gomer will tolerate kids dunno if he really loves them cuz he just loves all people.

Mercedes is very nervous around children especially if they come near me, I sometimes have to lock her up she doesn't bite or growl but you can just tell by the way she jumps up and runs over to me that she doens't like it.

Buffy and Gaucho love the grandchildren, but dislike other children. Dana on the other hand loves all children and thinks she should be able to crawl in their laps.

Samantha hasn't had much of an opportunity to be around them but when she is, she is stunned to have a human at her height. She gets very excited, which is understandable 'cause it's new to her. She's very good with them though and I can't wait to see her be a big sister to my future children!

Mine are all great with them. Huney most goes off and does her own thing after saying hi, but Roxey and Bon smother my niece Allison with kisses! Bon is so big now, when he kisses her he knocks her down:eek:

Peej really doesn't like to be touched by anyone but us (and Aly. :D ) so he really doesn't like kids too much.

Bailey loves everybody...kids too! :)

Dixie and Dusty both love kids! And in our neighborhood, the kids love Dixie and Dusty!! :D There are several of the neighborhood kids who actually knock on our door to ask if the dogs can come out and play with them. Of course I let them! It's always nice to have someone other than me throwing the frisbee for Dusty or the tennis ball for Dixie! ;)

Maddie absolutely adored kids. I should have had children just for her. :) None of the standard rough petting and handling from kids ever bothered her. She just kept looking for an opportunity to kiss'em, no matter what they were doing to her.

Murph is pretty good. He gets all excited to see'em and have'em pet him, then he's ready to do his own thing. His favorite type people are the old folks really. Whenever we'd have a family bar-b-que, he could either be found exploring around the yard or sitting next to Grandma on the swing.

Oz is almost as good as Maddie was with kids. He seems to have a good understanding of them. Being gentle and good naturedly going along with whatever games they're playing.

Gull... Gull... Gull... Him, I don't know. He seems to view all that squealing and running around, as a flock that needs herding. I'm much more careful with him around kids. They just get him way too excited.

Kosmo loves kids, he loves to get them lots and lots of kisses. The only thing we have to watch is sometimes he gets too excited and may nock them down if they are really little. I attached a photo of Kosmo & my nephew Austin nose to nose...super cute. Hope no one minds me posting a few pics.

Reecie is very good and patient with kids. My little cousin carries him around and pets him in a very awkward manner (NOT hurting him, just not the petting he's used to). He puts up with it like a saint, although when I look at his face, it seems like he'd much rather be someplace else :D

Lolly views kids in the same category as cats and annoying foster puppies. She knows she has to tolerate them, but she is NOT happy about it. She'll usually grunt and groan at me to let me know she's not happy too. She puts up with cats and puppies better than kids though. She runs away from my little cousin and hides under tables or under beds. I don't blame her though. She came from a very ubstable, abusive household. I won't be having kids while Lolly is with me so we're okay.
