My poor husband Mark.....Gracie almost ended back with Jan (QSL).
Poor hubby, Sunday morning at 4:00 am I hear "Gracie stop it". I of course ignore the comment because Mark has no patience when it come to the cats and sleeping. I hear again "Gracie!!!! STOP IT ....Gracie let go of me....Gracie your hurting me". Now is when I kind of take notice..."GRACIE YOUR CLAW IS STUCK *@&#*$&#(#(#&%*%^&&@*($(#*$*%*%* GRACIE **@(%*%*$(#*%*%%**"
Now keep in mind it's 4 am, I can not see because it is still dark but I sit straight up in bed and I am flailing around trying to find this little 5 lb Gracie.....well I could her with her claws (all 5 of them) stuck on her daddies face.
Her claw is stuck in his cheek. I try to remove her claw and get yelled at that I'm hurting him more.
Poor Mark gets up and goes into the bathroom. He is bleeding from the nose (Yes she managed to get her claw up his nose), on the nose, 4 spots on his right cheek and 3 spots on his neck. Seems Gracie was dreaming when Mark turned to get comfortable and startled her....she must have thought his nose was something bad because did she ever do a number on it.
So here it is 4 am and I have a big baby bleeder on my hands and a 5 lb litty sitting in the hallway looking oh so innocent. :o
Unfortunately now Mark knows what it feels like to get clawed as this happens to me on so many occassions.

Yikes!! I can just imagine the $%&*#$ that came out of Mark's mouth!! my Brad would be the same way.. With us..its Gracie pouncing on his "private parts"...which she seems to always do...looks like after 6 months he would learn to keep those things protected a little more..lol
But I am sure that your baby wasn't laughing when he got his face ripped into..altho it does sound comical..I know it still hurt!

Uh oh!!! Time to clip Madame Gracie's claws it sounds like. Now you know how bonded those two babies are, and so Gabriel would have to come back too. :D :D Sorry...but I got into the line of laughing PTers too. Dave is the type to have to get lots of sympathy over his battle wounds too. Kiss Mark's boo-boos, and kiss Gracie (and Gabe) and get out those nail clippers! ;)

Kim,
Sounds like Gracie need her claws trimmed!! I've had a claw or two stick into my arm (thanks Eli!!). After a while they get too long and start to curl under. Tell Mark I feel his pain!!!
BTW, I have some mixed cat food. If you want it, send me a PM and I'll ship it out to you!

I have been woke up with Amy trying to get on the bed, of coarse she can't jump so her NAILS get her up... a few times she has sunk them in my knee and woke me out of a sound sleep..
SO, I CAN symapthise with your hubby, I KNOW how that feels when you are sound asleep... differance is, with Amy, I do not cut her nails no matter what... but you can so CUT THOSE NAILS!!
I can relate. I'm sporting 2 fine scratches on my nose from Roscoe. I woke with his claw stuck in my face. Don't know what got him "upset" with me. I probably was taking over too much of the pillow I'm allowed to share with him. It's a weird feeling to wake out of dead sleep with claws stuck in your face. We need to clip all of ours too, except Oliver! Smooches to Gracie:) !

Well I must admit to everyone that I am still laughing and snickering to myself. While I don't wish pain like that on anyone I'm sure glad it was not me. I have way to many battle scars to need any like that.

At least it was the face... I was reading it and all I could picture was poor Gracie stuck a bit further south
Poor Gracie getting her sleep disturbed! :D

I'll have to admit, at first I was afraid that Gracie had gotten her claws caught somewhere else as well! Talk about OUCH!!! Well, I'm sorry that Daddy had a very rude and painful awakening, but surely he knows precious Gracie didn't really mean to!!!? ;) I think a good claw clippin' is in order too. My hubby is always the first to announce clippin' time around here too. What is it about men and pain and blood!!!?

Oh Meg! I don't mean to laugh but I just couldn't help it!:D :D
I think it's because so many of us have been there done that so it was easy to relate and picture the whole scene. :D There is nothing worse than claws anytime but when you're dead asleep it really freaks you out!:p
For two years straight our alarm clock went off at the same time every morning. For some reason it went off one morning and Sammy had some kind of short circuit and bolted across my face! He ripped my lip wide open and scratched me from below my eye down to my chin! After the initial pain the worst part was trying to explain to coworkers what happened!
Tell Mark we sympathize! How did he expain those "holes" in his face when he went to work?

OUCH!!
I was like Richard because the whole time I was reading I was thinking the attack was further south. Thank goodness it wasn't.
My sympathies to your hubby.
