Hi, I just received a call from my vet, they said they had a lady come in and bring a doberman in that she found in a field, the dog weighs around 25 pounds and should weigh 50. It also is very malnutritioned, and has 2 broken legs. The reason the called me was to see if I would talk to her and see if I couldnt find someone out there that may be able to help. I asked the vet if they thought the dog should be put down, and they stated that it was a good dog, and doing better. And would be good if it could be saved. Financially I dont think she is able to come up with the kind of funds it may take to get the dog healed. Any answers out there? Any doberman rescue groups that can help? I do cats, not dogs, so this is new for me, Im awaiting her call, but would like to send her in some good directions on the matter. We are in Dallas fort worth texas......Thanks

Also try http://www.imom.org/ Are there any TV stations that can be contacted? Often a plea for help, and a spot on the news should bring in plenty of donations to help this poor dog. Has he been scanned for a microchip (longshot but...). Keep us posted.

I agree with QueenScoopalot ~ www.imom.org ~ is a wonderful organization that collects donations for pets in need of medical attention. The application for financial aid needs to be quite detailed with vet estimates, etc. But, it is so worth it. Thru their all-volunteer donations, they raised over $150,000 in 2003 for pets in need. (I don't know what the 2004 #'s are).

If they can't help you, they may be able to recommend other organizations that can help. Please keep us posted.
