I have been the proud owner of Olive for about 3.5 to 4 years now. She was the dog of the day on June 27 of 2002. Today was the first time I ever saw her as a puppy! I ran across her picture on this site by accident.

My wife and I adopted Olive from a neighbor that was watching her for a couple that had to let her go because of personal reasons. So we didn't know that much about her except that she was a real sweatheart and seemed eager to please.

I could go on about how we came to love and care for Olive but the real reason I wanted to write this was to show my appreciation for this site. You see there has always been a hole in that part of Olives life for us. Now because the original owners had cared enough to post her picture on this site my wife and I have a sense of what little Olives puppyhood was like. And a wonderful photo of her as a puppy! THANKS PET OF THE DAY!

Olive has only been around a short time and she's touched so many peoples lives.

I've attached a more recent photo of her. Look her up in June 2002 and compare.

Oh, what a happy update from a very proud Papa:D It's nothing short of miraculous that you found your precious girl in the archives!:eek: You and your wife must have been SO surprised ad thrilled to see her face staring back at you! I have to say, Olive is even prettier today than she was then! It's so sad to know that a family who seemed to love her so very much, had to surrender her:( But happily, Olive has at last found that extra special family, a family who will love her unconditionally and forever!:) I'm so happy for your family and for her! Now her history is complete!:) I hope you or your wife will come to post some pics of Olive in Dogs General and update us on how and what she's doing! Please give Olive a BIG hug and kiss for me:)

Welcome devans!! This was a really amazing post to read, and very touching as well. I can only imagine how thrilled and excited you were to find Olive's Dog of the Day picture and story here when you did your search! Olive is an absolute beauty, what a lovely girl she has grown into! It is obvious as well that she is in wonderful home, deeply cherished and loved. I am sure that Olive's first family would be relieved that she ended up in such a perfect home. I'm so happy you found her tribute!
