My Boxer eat a whole bag of peanut M & M's yesterday while we where gone to church. I watched him all afternoon and on into the night. He seems fine other than being hyper should I worry about anything else?

Hi! Welcome to Pet Talk!
Your Boxer sounds like a typical Boxer :p At my house we have to put things up high before we leave!
I'm sure he'll be fine since everything has been pretty normal ever since :)
I would love to hear more about your furbabies!

It takes a considerable amount of choclate to make a larger dog ill and at worst, the small amount of milk chocolate in the M&M"s shouldn't cause more than a upset stomach. Dark chocolate, especially baker's choclate, is the worst. It sounds like your pup is doing ok but if you have any worries, if he starts to vomit, do give the vet a call. All our our pups have on one occasion or another, gotten into chocolate and I understand fully the scare you're feeling! Hopefully he's doing fine! Would love to get to know you and your pup!:) Sandra

Sometimes even putting stuff up high doesnt do the trick. they find 'ways' to get up to it. like my friends Boston Terrier did. she put a batch of fudge that she made,, and put it up on her counter top. which is up pretty dang high for a little dog. anyway she had forgotten something at the store and went back to town to get it. while she was gone somehow her Boston used the knobs and handles on all the doors to get up on the counter top and ate the fudge. when she came home she found her dog dragging her belly on the floor and howling and seen the fudge pan on the floor and knew what happened. she had to take her to the vet,, where they gave her something to make her throw up all the stuff she ate and was sent home.
now she leaves her fudge,, and other type of candy inside of a tin thing that seals up really good. and keeps it up one cupboards above the counter.

There is nothing worse than when a dog throws up m&m's. Autumn has eaten her way threw many a bag. Don't worry, a one pound bag, which I'm assuming it was, is nothing for a dog that size, as long as he didn't eat any of the plastic bag. Autumn can get into a plastic sealed, gift-wrapped tin and take out the plastic, sealed bag of m&m's and bit a tiny hole in it to suck them all out. Funniest thing on earth, she always knows which tin has the m&m's. Unfortunately she throws up watery m&m puke all over the house afterward. ewww

Chocolate can kill your dog. My friend gave her dog a chocolate bar...kitkat I think. The dog went into convulsions (it is a lab) and then a coma. The vet said the chocolate was to blame, he had a severe reaction to it. Dogs are like us like that, some can have it, some can't.
