Bushism of the Day

"Because the—all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those—changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be—or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the—like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate—the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those—if that growth is affected, it will help on the red."—Explaining his plan to save Social Security, Tampa, Fla., Feb. 4, 2005

Makes perfect sense to me.....
You have to remember that when politicians speak, the cloth in their underwear, and the pants that they are wearing, muffle their voice.

Huh?
Usually if a person doesn't understand another person, the first person thinks the second person is an idiot. Put me as the first person in this sentence and Bush as the second and it is immediately plain why I think he's an idiot.
And this is the man that is the head of the most powerful country in the world? Talk about scary. <shudders>

I was on the Hollywood Freeway....Ah, Hollywood Parking Lot, on my way to work this morning.
As usual, it was slow going......
With nothing much to do I started watching the traffic around me.
I had heard a study a while back that observed people while driving. It noted that people, when seeing a lane that moves
faster, will move into that lane, filling it up and effectively slowing it down.
A few cars ahead I saw one little blue car switching, back and forth, between the lanes that were moving..
Intrigued, I watched this car moving sideways, but never making any progress forward.
Being stubborn, I stayed in my lane and I finally pulled up on the side of the LBC and saw the reason for his plight...

No.
I really don't read anything political.
For some reason all the little footnotes and ibids distract me.
It's hard enough to think on my own.
-------------------------------------------
BTW.
I saw Tim Robbins on the Bill Maher show last night.
He claims the the US killed 'one hundred thousand people'
in Iraq due to aerial bombing.
On the Nat'l. Geo Channel I saw the "shock and awe" program and they claimed that there were innocent victims and that the
number killed due to bombs in the 'low hundreds'
I'll read you mind and say it for you...Any civilians and US/Brit/Aussie/Spanish and everyone else, troops that were killed were one too many, but when Maher asked TR about the genocide that Saddam put his people thru he couldn't answer.
I think that is the most frustrating thing about the "left".
Someone can't count and when the numbers conflict it's always US that are at fault...
And what about Ward Churchill???
That maggot makes me sick.
lizbud
02-27-2005, 06:53 PM
First, Ward Churchill is an American Indian wannabe and
a walking joke. His describing the 911 victims as
somehow deserving of their deaths is beyond the pale. Total
idiot.

And should you get a chance-
Cue up patriotic music and flag photos-
PBS and CNN aired two riveting documentaries on the soldiers in Iraq.......Frontline was the PBS special and I don't remember the name of the CNN special.........
PBS followed a group of soldiers that named themselves the Misfits- and India Company was the subject of the CNN special.
Catch some of the interviews with the soldiers.

Is that the one where they showed a soldier shoot a stray dog because he claims it was "coming at him"? How he came to that conclusion when the dog was trotting along in the opposite direction several yards away and barking, I don't know. And instead of quickly putting the dog out of it's misery while it was spinning, screaming and flopping on the ground bleeding to death, they just stood there and watched it die. Sorry, but I didn't find that very riveting. :(

I was on my way to work when I was put on a detour route.
The cops closed down one lane of a two lane street, put up cones with little signs that said, "Keep to the Right".
Had I "Kept to the Left' I would have been in trouble.
Who knew driving and politics had so much in common.;)
