What a lovely old girl!!! I know the attitude that I see in her face, our white tortie(just lkie Freckle), ruled the house and the other cats with an iron paw for 16 years!!!! Freckle is so very lucky that she has a family that has loved her all these years and sacrificed their holidays for her(yes, we cat folks UNDERSTAND!!) Freckle, keep eating your special diet and hope you have MANY more good years down under. HAPPY COTD!!!!

I'm primarily a dog person (though I do have a tough little kitty also) and I am touched by your decision to forego holidays rather than leave this gorgeous cat in someone else's care. I can't stand the idea of my babies in cages while I leave town either, especially since they were all strays or pound puppies - except the cat, who was feral at my apartment and eventually moved in with me - I am sure they would feel abandoned again!

Yes, my husband and I understand your unwillingness to go on vacation and leave your Freckle behind. Why travel, when the center of the earth is right in your own home?? We've got four cats, and we get lonesome enough just going to work and leaving them for the DAY!

That's great. A homeless kitty that might have had a short, miserable life, winds up being loved and spoiled lifelong. No matter what age they are, we need to enjoy our pets every single day. Hope Freckles has many more to happily lay in her flower pot. Good luck.

Dearest Freckle, I can certainly relate to your guardian(s) foregoing vacations/holidays, because if I have even a single day off from work I relish spending it right here at home with my own kitties. Any extended time away from home would be out of the question entirely . . . I couldn't enjoy myself away from them and worrying if some petsitter was competent. I would feel so anxious about their wellbeing and whether they were upset because we weren't here. Cats get used to a routine, and change is disconcerting to them. There is no place I'd rather be than home with them, attending to their needs.

You are so divine, Freckle, and a most deserving COTD! You have such, long luxurious whiskers just like my one Tortie, Lizette.
