Where did you get your pet? :)
Blair and Happy are from the same breeder-not exactly reputable but not exactly BYB either lol Happy we bought from them Blair was given to us.
Misty is from a farm, she is not reg. but both parents are working stock dogs, the dogs are bred for health and working ability, and well socialized. however this was their first and only BC litter, they did formerly breed sher pei's. but I do consider them to be far more reputable then Happy and Blair's breeder. if they bred another litter I would go back to them in a heartbeat.
Perky and Ripley are both from the shelter

Lexi is unfortunately from a BYB, he was very caring, his place wasn't the best though, but MAN did he love his dogs!
The only bad part was that I saw a dog, hidden in the bushes, in a large cage that was manged up, covered in fleas and probably very sick! I don't think it was his dog though!

Lucky is from a BYB (:( ) I regret making that decision, but he's here and he's hooked me onto Pekes.
Giselle is from a breed (hmm..I don't want to say 'rescue' because she was given up willingly by her caring breeder- NOT picked off the streets with her ears cut off) ...Okay, she's from an all volunteer organization in Northern California dedicated to rehoming retired racing Greyhounds. That's a mouthful!

Kaedyn came from the Shelter I volunteer at. It was my first day as a volunteer, and I already found a dog to take home. :D
Kai's breeder wasn't exactly reputable, but he wasn't as bad as most bybs either. He shows, judges, made us sign a contract, and (normally) registers the pups. All his pups were guarenteed for health too. The contract we signed wasn't a spay/neuter contract (in fact, he discouraged us from neutering Kai.. but we did it anyways :p). It was just a contract saying we'd return the pup to him if we decided we didn't want him anymore. We were supposed to get his papers in the mail but even after two years, I still haven't recieved them. He was a nice guy, but certainly wouldn't go back to him again.

Ash was an adopted stray that my daughter Melissa begged me to keep, as I am allergic to cats, I was not too keen, and he was mainly an outdoor cat with a shelter for the first while, but gradually we let him come in and guess what my allergy actually improved, now he is the boss cat of the household and sleeps wherever he wishes, and is in the house most of the time. If it had not been for my daughter's insistence and my softness, I would never have known I was able to own one cat let alone two.
Lexie was adopted from the cats protection league a NO kill shelter here.

I put BYB AND petshop..since she was there on consignment at the petshop from a local breeder. I hate it that is how she came to be with me, but that is the facts and I would do it again to have her...didn't even know what the letters BYB stood for until a few months ago..and sure didn't have a clue what goes on..but I still thank the good Lord that I have her~

both my pups are from a shelter in the north of gran canaria. believe me these shelters would make the SPCA look like animal heaven. :( when you walk in there is about 30 cages with between 20 and 50 dogs in each cage (they are huge pens, not so much cages, but it looks like a prison). it is a non-profit organization, and the people there love the animals and try to do the best that they can with what they have. but still its not nearly enough.
both time we went there, i had to leave because i was crying so hard. we adopted tito when he was just under a month old (a throw away litter) and when he was one year old we went back to get him a "girlfriend" (they are both altered, don't worry, LOL). Bella was 2 or 3 when we adopted her, and her poor coat was so matted we had to have her shaved to the skin, she had at least 7 ticks, massive flea infestation, and ear mites. she was very timid and terrified of strange men. in the 6 months we had her the change is AMAZING!!!! some people dont even recognize her as the same dog.
everyday i wake up and am so thankful that i have my beautiful pup with me.:D

Zeus came from a reputable breeder.
Mackenzie came from a breeder, too. Not sure how reputable, though, considering that Mackenzie became blind at age one.
Muffin came from a shelter--she was a street rescue.
Freckles came from a pet store. He had a very nice life at the store. We would never, ever buy an animal from a dirty pet store.
Baybi came from a breeder--though not very reputable, she was very spoiled and had a good life, riding around on shoulders all day and getting hand-fed when she was a "Baybi". ;)

Snowy came from an accidental litter, but still a loving home. He old 'owners' were crying when we took her home.
Taffy came from a pet store, after my hamster, Fluffy, died. (she was also from the pet store)
Buttons was from the same petstore Taffy was, Petland. I wasn't planning on getting a bird, my mom and I jus stopped in there to get some food for Taffy. I noticed that they had just gotten a bunch of cockatiels in so I went over there to look at them. And well, obviously, I did more than just looking and came home with a HUGE dent in my pocket. (The birds there were over priced, but I don't care, all I wanted was a sweet bird!)
Sushi (my fish) was from Petsmart.

Sandi (mixed breed dog) came from the Humane Society. We picked her up there the same day she was brought in. She was about 10 months old at the time. She's almost 11 years old now.
Oreo was an "accident" between a co-workers two dogs: a pure-bred male Beagle and a pure-bred female Chocoalte Lab. So we call him our "Chocolate Beagle". We brought him home when he was 6 weeks old, and he's almost 8 years old now.
Angel was an orphaned farm cat that we got from another of my co-workers. She had been born on my co-worker's parents farm, and orphaned at 6 weeks when a coyote or something got the mother. We brought her home when she was 8 weeks old, but she was the size of a 2-week old kitten. For more on her story, go to the Cat General section and look on the thread that starts out as "Angel's story.."
