Grapes/Raisins - Can cause kidney failure
Onions - Destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia
Chocolate - The theobromine in chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Darker (baker's) chocolate is much more dangerous than milk chocolate.
Coffee/Tea - Caffeine may have the same effect as chocolate does
Macadamia Nuts - Causes weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis
Tomatoes - tomatoe plants are the most toxic. The tomatoes themselves are also unsafe.
Avacados - Can cause difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation in the chest, abdomen and heart.
Nutmeg - Can cause tremors, seizures and death
Apples, Cherries, Peaches, etc - the seeds contain cyanide
Salt - Excessive salt can cause kidney problems
Fat (Obviously) - excessive fat can cause pancreatitis

My dogs always want what I am eating too. :)
I did not realize all the listed foods were bad.
Good thread.

When Max eats anything other than dog food, it's very bad for him because his obnoxious gas wakes me up from a dead sleep in the middle of the night and he finds himself kicked out of the bedroom! Darn dog - anytime I bake, I have to put the food on top of the 'fridge to cool, because that's the only place he won't get to it. Pretty soon he'll figure out how to drag a chair over to the fridge and get it.
