I have a siamese kitty who has been limping for the past two days. He is an indoor cat, so there is not much he could get hurt on, (perhaps a thorn from my roses pricked his paw). I checked his paw for a cut, but I didn't see anything at all and he doesn't seem like it hurts if I rub his leg. Should I take him to the vet, or give it a couple of day to see if it gets better?

If he hasn't shown any signs of getting better by now I would take him to the vet. He may have just sprained or pulled something but limping can also be signs of something much more serious. Better safe than sorry. Please let us know what you find out and I hope he is okay.

If he's not putting any weight on the leg, it may be fractured. If he is bearing weight, then chances are it's a strain, or sprain. Keep an eye on it, and if it's not better in another day, I'd get him to the vets for Xrays. Good luck, and hope it's nothing serious. ;)

Please get it checked. I had a limping kitty once and it was a serious condition. (I don't want to alarm you, though. She was very old.)

I took him to the vet and they gave him pain killers and something to put on his paw for 4 days. If he's not showing any signs of getting better we will take him back. He is only 9 months old. His hair stands up and poofs up on his tail when he's upset. Is this normal?

Great quote!

I'm so sorry your kitty hurt himself. I'm glad you brought him to the vet. Did they say what it could be from?

Yes, cats will poof up their tail when they are upset, scared or in pain.

Prayers and positive thoughts on the way that he feels better soon.
