ok today at work while i was cleaning out the mice pen i noticed a very large mouse. she was obviously heavily pregnant...
I decided to move her to the back...

During the day she had made a HUGE nest in the tank i moved her into... At the end of the night i desided to take her home with me... i rather her haver her babies at my house on aspen bedding with extra TLC, then at a petstore in pine bedding where they dont give two craps about the animals...
'
so yea. i now have a mouse.. she is white with Ruby eyes... i will get pics up tomorrow of her HUGE tummy and her cage :)...
she has been running on her wheel for the past half hour.... shoudl i be worried?? i dont want her babys to abort because of excessive exercise
..

how long is gestation??
what should i feed her for extra nutrition??
at what age do babies leave their mother??
at what age do babies start to eat solids? drinking water?
how early can i sex babies?
how early can i handle babies?
when do males become sexualy mature??

these are all things i need to know ASAP>...

any imput would be gratefull.. i have never had mice babies before!!!

Cool! Can't wait to see pics! :D This should be a good experience for you.

I imagine the exersise is good -- they always say that people should exersise lots when they are pregnant because it makes delivering easier and less painful. :) The gestation period is about 3 weeks...and she should be fed a high protien/fat diet rich in vitamins. Seeds and dog food are good to add to the food.

I found some interesting sites:

lol... it sounds like my RB mouse, Sadie. My husband, Justin, had gotten her as a feeder mouse to feed to one of the snakes. She ended up being pregnant, so I kept her. She had 13 babies. Justin took 8 of them and fed the pinks to the snakes (before I got too attached to them). Out of the 6 left, 1 was a girl and I kept her. I also kept a boy. I found homes for 4 of the boys and kept 1. They were all so beautiful. The baby girl had long black hair (she went to RB a few days ago). The little boy I kept is white and had black spots (I still have him). Two of the other boys were a brindle coloring. I don't remember what the others were.
