Does Beau look more like a Shepherd or Heeler? (Pics)

This is my German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix, Beau, when he was about 5 months old. Does he look more like a Shepherd or Blue Heeler? And for the experts..how large do you thinl he is going to get? Currently at 6 1/2 months he is about 45lbs.

He's got a Shepherd face and coloring, but more the body shape of a heeler. By the size of those paws, he's still got a lot of growing to do! ;) He's a handome boy either way.

I do see some Heeler in the face..but like Karen mentioned it looks like a small Shepherd face and a heeler body! He's a gorgeous boy!

If he is the 45 lbs now..hmm...probably around 50-60 lbs, maybe even 70 but I doubt it, he won't grow much more at this age! Have fun with him! :D He may grow a bit!

I may be worng but I have been dealing wih dogs for quite some time!

awww! he's a very handsome boy! He looks like both, GSD coloring, but he also has ACD ticking. His face and ears look very GSD :) so cuute! Beau will probably get up to 60 lbs. My dog grew a lot from when we got him at 8 months! Dogs usually grow until they're about 18 months

yes he looks like both but because I have not seen many heeler I would say he looks more like a shepherd, a handsome one :)

He's a very handsome mix! If I saw him, not knowing what he was, I would definitely know that he was part shepherd. I'd spend some time figuring out what the other part was. Like everybody says - he looks like a shepherd head on a heeler body! Pretty boy.

I own a heeler. Beau's head looks more like a heelers head. The ears are shepherd & the longer body is shepherd. The heeler has a stoutter body build & Beau looks more stream line like a shepherd. I wonder what kind of dispostion he will have? Heelers tend to be one person & guarded in behavior dogs.

Beau is such a sweetie.
We have a blue tick heeler [Australian Cattle Dog] and I'd guess that your baby is definitely part G.Shepherd [the head/ears] and part "red heeler" rather than blue. I can see the ticking marks on his front paws.

Heelers are very protective of their humans and don't usually let their "human" out of their sight.
