My two were on Nutro adult maintenance chicken and rice for years and I was very happy with it. When I moved up here, it is not available at the pet store so I changed them to Eagle Pack adult maintenance and have been just as happy with that. I have never heard a bad word about either company regarding testing, etc.
Their is probably a lot of good dog food out their.
I always liked Nutro.
My dogs are on Canidae and have done
well on it.
For grocery store dog food, I like Purina One.
Someone posted a dog food web page where
you can check out the ingredients.
If I recall the first 4 ingredients are the most
important, because they are the main
ingredients.
What one dog does well on doesn't
meant another one will. So if you find a food your
pup does well on, stick to it. :)

Excellent foods:
Anything by Natura Pet. This includes: Karma, Innova, and Innova EVO (grain free)
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul
Artemis
Wysong
Wellness
California Natural
Pinnacle
Fromm
Solid Gold
Canidae
Natural Balance
Newman's Organic
Prairie Brand
Premium Edge
Foundations
There are many many more. I'm just flipping through PFE's dog food lists, and checking out the ingredients:p So, you might want to research a bit more into the above foods. However, CSFTDLS, Wysong, Wellness, Solid Gold, and Canidae are very very popular and well liked. I also LOVE NaturaPet's dog foods. Karma has a greyt ingredients list as you'll soon find out, and Innova EVO is what I'm feeding right now. Good Luck:)

Purina One is pretty much all my dogs get along with their homemade food, although they sometimes get Canidae. I found out that most of the specialized pet store foods like Iams actually test their products on dogs. I'm not against testing dog food on dogs to see what they eat, but these dogs live in cages and are taken out to eat and thats it for the day. I won't feed that food to my dogs. I guess its up to the consumer and the dog. Most claims about which food is better are false anyway.

both my dogs are on Pedigree, and theyre doing wonderful with it.Thats the price we want to pay for dog food, and they love it so i personally would never take food from my dogs and make them eat stuff like they dont like.We tried feeding Kodie nutro and he hated it.so he's back on Pedigree, and again they both love it,and doing great on it.
so i would recommend feeding them whatever they love!:)

Only use Nutro for dawg and kitties. Treats biscuits might vary as the Nutro bikkies are very expensive.

Some would say that what I feed my dog is bad but it works for HER. I went with "one of the best" and it did nothing for my dog. Stay with what works for your dog. Not every food is good for every dog.
