Lawson.....I do hope you have contacted an ER vet by now. Please keep us updated.
For those guests reading this....let this be a lesson. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary. There are other options.
Lawson....this comment is NOT intended for you so don't take it the wrong way. This is NOT your fault and I'm not bashing you at all. I'm just stressing a point for any lurkers that are out there in the hopes of educating people.

I have to agree about getting your kitty to an emergency vet:(
On the positive side - if there is infection, an antibiotic will help. I would also get to the regular vet and request x-rays. One of my kitties seemed to have a sore paw and an x-ray showed a BAD declaw job and vet said it can be corrected since bone fragments were left behind. Thankfully, Dylan (my tenderfoot) has had no infection and the pain seems to be gone - but at least I know the surgery is available so I keep watch for infection or limping. If the vet who did the surgery is not willing to treat and correct the damage - I would find another vet.
Try not to hate your hubby - he just did not know this could happen. My previous kitties have always been declawed and Dylan came from the shelter with all four paws done. No more declawing for me - our two newest are 5 months old now and they keep their claws:) But, the others I had done - I just thought it was the normal thing to have done when they had their neuters - like the norm for an indoor cat. I actually thought I was pampering them:rolleyes: I thought they simply pulled the claw out or something like that!! I didn't even care about my furniture - just assumed it would also prtect my kids from scratches. Hubby probably had and HAS no idea what declaw involves.
Please keep us updated about your kitty - vet visit, etc...OK?:)
