My Lab x has recently started snapping at kids. We have been liviing in our current residence for about 8 months now. Before that our neighbor had an in-home daycare and kids all around. Pandy would never bite, snap or anything just allowed the kids to pet her, she would give them kisses etc. Now at our new place she runs up to the kids but as soon as they put our their hand she snaps! I want to belive that she would never actually bite. But I'm scared!! Anyone have suggestions as to why the change in behavior towards kids? (PS..it's only kids that are young...like 7 and under.....)

Maybe she met a few kids that petted her really hard,, or pulled her tail or whiskers or did something to her she didnt like and she thinks every kid will do the samething so shes snappy now.
sorry i dont have any real advise to give ya. i wish you and your pooch the best of luck though. :)

our Lola did that also, so I think maybe you pup is getting older, and more protective of your family; cus thats what Lola did. even people she saw a lot she started snapping at, so i say, just watch our, if the kids are out only a few hours, keep your pup in until they are gone. sry if its not much help

I was thinking the same thing as Vette.
She might have had a bad experience.
She should also have a space where she can
go incase she just wants to be left alone.
I would make sure that ALL children
are always supervised when around
any dog to make sure they are very gentle and
that nobody gets hurt. :)
