Life is beautiful! What a handsome boy! I love the blue merles; it is definately not a color you see every day! The first blue merle I had ever seen was a puppy, and I thought it was a harlequin that would lighten up as it got older - now I know better.
Don't feel bad about people thinking he is a different breed - I have two black-and-white greyhounds, and, at least 50% of the time, people ask if they are dalmations! Many people just don't know about the many different breeds of dog. They see black and white (or in Life's case, black and blue!) and they automatically think dalmation! :rolleyes: :D

Life you are one big gorgeous doggie. It's funny that so many people scare so easily when it comes to Great Danes - but they are the sweetest, most-laid back dogs around. Alot of the larger breeds are gentle giants. Congratulations for being Dog of the Day big boy! :D

Life I love your name. It's a beautiful name for a most beautiful boy. You don't even look mean, you look so gentle even by your picture, how could anyone be afraid of such a gentle giant?

On a different note...I would LOVE to see you standing next to a newer member who has an adorable doggie named Ricky. He's a long hair chihuahua and he's just the opposite of you...he's on the complete other end of the size spectrum :D

When I was a little girl, 4 or 5, my mom took me to visit with a great-aunt who had a Great Dane. When the dog saw me, he came running along a corridor and put his paws in my shoulders. He could have knocked me down, but no, he embraced me, and I embraced him. From that day on everybody knew I would never be afraid of a dog, no matter the size.
