I'm not sure if it's less expensive or not but Royal Canin makes a similar type of food for struvite crystals. I currently use the Royal Canin SO Formula which prevents calcium oxalate crystals and dissolves struvite crystals. It also makes your cats drink more water so they also pee more often. So far it's keeping all of my cats healthy. Different vets may also charge different prices so you may want to call around. Good luck.:)

im not sure if its less expensive but eukanuba is very good for. my vet for my cats only feed this to his cat and she has been living for 13 years now but if thats to expensive then try iams he said that there also really good. you can find it. but try to get the dry food becaouse dry food will keep their teeth healthier and plus if your cat was to get sick and lets say that he doesnt feel like eating the regualr food then just guve your cat the same thing in wet food and they will go crazy for it becaouse they think its something else.
