Ok so I recieved a ferret for Christmas from my cousin, whom I might say did not give her the proper time/attention that she needed, due to my cousins living conditions.
So I got to keep her and she has already stolen my heart.
She does not bite (only nibbles for play), she loves to give kisses on my nose, and play with anything she is not suppossed to. She loves fruit loops and cheerios, and her favorite is kitten chow. She hates store bought ferret treats.
I do not know very much about ferrets, but I did buy a how to care for a ferret book from pet supermarket. Any advice would be greatly appriciated.
NOW ... On to the pictures, I hope you all enjoy:D

oh she's adorable! Give her a kiss for me:D
Is she eating a commercial Ferret food as well?? I recommend Marshal farms anything they are a great supplier. She is very cute if you have any questions feel free to ask. Make sure she has a hammock and plenty of toys! which she'll just hide under couches anyways LOL...

Yes she does eat Marshall ferret food from the pet supermarket.. She has a hammock, A TON of toys, a ferret playhouse and she uses only pine wood shavings, (she is allergic to cedar). She has a collar, and 2 leashes. (one is the kind she can slip out of, the other is one that you use kind of like a harness that clings to her, so she cant wiggle out of it). She also has a tote purse we bought her.
Do you have a ferret? I would love to get advice on how to make them happier. I bought the book, but it is so basic, not too many good ideas there.
She has a ferret ball to roll in, but she HATES it. I do not know too much about ferrets, and it is so hard to find anyone who owns them. In North Carolina, I have not known anyone to have one.
She likes kitten chow as a treat. She HATES ferret bites. She doesnt like raisins or cucumbers or apples. So it is hard to find a treat she likes. Other than hard cereal (fruit loops, cheerios, and special K with Strawberries).
I would love to find out more about them, and know someone else who has a ferret, or knows more about them than I do. Thank you for the advice you have given:D I really apprieciate it;)

Congrats on the new adition, The book Ferrets for dummies is and life saver a must have for ferret owners.
I would NOT recomend apples/cucumbers etc ferrets cant digest things like that.
The best treats to give in small amonts is meat, cooked chickin is a fav, beef, etc and cooked fish they go mad for, if you can stomach it, raw rabbit, poltry, etc hole they will LOVE.
I wouldnt leave small toys in with her 24/7 just in case.
or collors on 24/7
also a great treat is ferretvite and ferretone.

Thank you for the advice Ky:D She really did not like cooked chicken, I think she might just prefer crunchy dry foods. I cant get her to eat anything soft/wet.
Ferretvite, can I get that from the petstore, or a vet? I would love to find her something that she will go nuts over:D
I just have to say, you 2 ferrets are adorable!!! I love the albino ferrets, Tia is just precious:D
Do yours bite? like to be held? I would love to get a white one, but I am not sure if Ferra would like one, she HATES my kitties, and tries to attack them. My kitties are very tolerant though. Thanks again:D

Thanks mine love to be handled, i rescued Tia (the Albino) and i think she is quite old, she is very melow and calm, She too wont eat anything other than dry food, and ferretvite/ferretone(i swear shes a vegan), Which you can buy from a petshop (i hade to get them to order it for me)because ferrets arnt very common in the uk. but you should be able to pick it up easly.
donnie will eat anything next time you have a steak or somthing cut a small raw piece off and just keep offering it to her, and egg they love (bolied).
everyone i know with ferrets say that its vital that they get meat but Tia is fine without it (only because she wont eat it).
Donnie plays with my puppy like mad, if the puppy gets to rough he'll let him know.
