Before I left work it was originally stated to be a 50 car pile up.... then on my drive home the number reached 100.
This morning, the highway is again clear (it was closed for about 10 hours), and the number is in the 200 range.
Insane.
Took a little longer to get home but I was in no hurry. Unfortunately my alt. route was the same that people that couldn't take the highway were also taking and they were impatient! A few smaller accidents happened on surface roads but most were fender benders.
They are saying it's the worse accident in the history of Ingham County. As far as I know no one I know was in that mess. Though I'm certain my two cousins were there helping (one's a state trooper and the other is a MSU police officer).
200 car pile up including 80 semis.
37 injured
2 dead.
