When it rains, it pours...Please say a prayer for a new dog in our rescue program. She was picked up by a dear friend of mine in Baton Rouge, in a HORRIBLE section of town. She's obviously been hit by a car or something, because she has a broken leg. We don't yet know how long the leg has been broken, she is going to the vet today. Coming from the area where she was found, I have no doubts about her heartworm stat, we'll find that out today as well...oh and did I mention that she appears to be pregnant? Sweet, reddish colored mutty girl, (our specialty, since they are the forgotten angels). Prayers please....Pray that she's HW-, pray that she's not really pregnant and if so, that it's the very early stage...and pray that we can save the leg..... As you can tell, we are overwhelmed at the moment. This is the 6th dog, we have taken in the last 2 weeks. 2 were little lab pups with the worst case of red mange I've ever seen..and believe me I've seen a lot! Thanks for listening everyone....just had to whine a little!

I like to see the before and after. If you have any Gidgetgirl just post them as attachments so people that don't want to see don't have to.

Well, the good news is that her leg is not broken, but has nerve damage due to trauma. At this point it's a wait and see game. The vet does not want to amputate as they have seen this resolve itself before and want to give it a chance to do so. The bad news is that she is HW+, (what a surprise!!), and she is pregnant with at least 4 pups and they are due in 2-3 weeks. Sweet beautiful Trisha Lu has lots going on in her young life. I'll take pics today and post them tonight or tomorrow. Please keep her in your prayers that all will go well with her leg.

The pups aren't here yet. They are due in 2-3 weeks. Hey, I see you're from CT. Are you familiar with Labs4Rescue?
