Well, last week someone (Tito?) did a #2 in a corner of our dining room. It was a combination of two things: 1) stress from family being in town for Christmas, and 2) their Daddy had forgot to clean out the litterbox the night before. This was the first accident in our house since Sophie was a tiny kitten. Tito has never had an accident before, but I really think it was him. Well, we put some Nature's Miracle on it, but apparently, not enough ---- because Sophie just peed in that corner. And I mean, she really unloaded. She has not strayed once from the box since she was about six weeks old!!! This corner is seriously three feet from a perfectly clean litterbox. Three feet, I am not exaggerating. They have three huge boxes in our little apartment. I think it was like a marking issue - Tito did the deed in that corner last week, and now Sophie has to mark over it. I just soaked that entire area in Nature's Miracle, and I hope hope hope this doesn't continue!!! Wish me luck!

And, may I add, Daddy was not too smart about this one - he noticed her scratching the carpet in that corner, and said, "Sophie, did you do something here?" and stuck his hand right on it!!!! Ewwwwww!!! Don't tell him I told you... :p

Don't you just wondering what makes them start this kind of stuff? Our Bentley started spraying out of the blue. No physical problems, just territorial ones. We finally got it under control, but what a pain it can be!

YIKES, I feel your pain! Trust me, my carpets have been christened more times that you can imagine! Hubby and I already know we will have to replace all the carpets in this house if we ever dare to try and sell it! ;)

First thing Samantha did when I got her to Kevlins house was go in the hall and take a dump.. They were all stressed out from having out of town company for 3 days, then the trip over there... and I keep my litter boxes in the hall at home..

Filou has peed in the laundry basket (or close to it on the floor) before in situations like this. This time when my mom and her doxie arrived for Christmas I put the laundry basket in the cellar.

Filou who gets more used to Amber was a very good boy and did not even pee on the floor (which would have been tiles in the bathroom). He never does things like that without stress (namely visitors) so I think I can live with it.

I hope that Tito and Sophie now calm down:)

Been through this just recently. It drove me crazy but several of the boys decided to start spraying and marking all over the house! I thought I was going to go nuts! I finally figured out what was making mine do it. On pretty days we open up our windows and it turns out that the ferals I was feeding were, of course, spraying everywhere outside to mark territory. My boys felt the need to mark theirs inside! Now that the windows are closed I had a hard time breaking the habit. Don't ask me how I did it because I really don't know. Everytime I saw or smelled a spot I sprayed it with Urine and Stain remover and I also yelled, sprayed, and stomped everytime I saw one of them backing into something. I think I finally won....for now that is.

Can you move the litter box to that corner temporarily? At least for a lttle bit until they move on to the next bad thing they are going to do and forget about that corner!;) :D

CCL, I think that's a good idea. I'll try moving the litterbox over the spot. Hopefully that will help stop it. Thanks!
