What does everybody think about Long-tailed JackRussell
 I personally think they look beautiful with their tails docked ur un-docked although I have only seen 1 without its tail docked...MINE! LOL!

I'm not sure how to post pictures onto this message and not attached as well! But I have attached 2 pictures of my baby!

What do you think!

Snowy is also undocked eventhough she comes from a hunting kennel. Docking is now illegal in several countries including UK so we will see more and more undocked jack russells. Personally I don't think jack russells should be docked anyway because they look fine (not awkward) with their tail and even Parson John Russell himself never docked any of his terriers and they were the best hunting dogs at their time.

I never knew that, I thought that you could still do that...lol! It kind of looks like Snowy's tail is partially docked!

I don't know if it is illegal or not in Canada but it is in the UK although some people still practise it. Snowy has a full tail, not docked at all.

its not illigal in canada, although many clinics refuse to do it. I personally prefere undocked, I have a full tailed Jack Russle.

Also...its easier for then to chase their tails! All I have to say to Lexi is "WHERE'S YOUR TAIL!" and she'll start chasing it! Its really quite funny and she goes really fast. I have a webcam and I will post the video for you guys!

bumping this up to clarify

docking is not illegal in the UK if done by a vet although many vets refuse to do it if it's only for cosmetic reason.

I've seen lots of jack russells with tails a lot longer than Snowy's I am starting to wonder if hers was docked

I've rescued a couple long tail JR before, they are very cute, but towards their history, I think they should be docked.

Yeah William, I thought Snowy's tail had a little stub to it, but I'm not sure. Its looks a lot smaller then Lexi's. If you get a picture of her stacking, I can get one of Lexi and compare....

Polly, the Jack at my barn, has her tail docked and she's just a pet, no working or showing. I prefer full tails in this particular breed. I have grown quite fond of shorties (my fav nickname for them because they look like Parsons with really super short legs.) since I have been here to see all those great Lexi picks and since Lexie bought Polly. I have never seen a full body Perky pic before, I love her!

Prefer undocked anything. Saw an undocked Cocker Spaniel recently - beautiful tail

Payson isn't a purebred Jack, but I think he looks cute with his long tail.

I personally like undocked JRTs better...or any breed for that matter! ;) Some dogs, like aussies, almost always have to docked though since they have such big tails!:) (I like 'em like that too!) And rotties and dobies are fine with docked tails too.;) That's so funny Lexi chases her tail when you ask her where her tail is!!:D haha, that's really good!;)

this is Snowy and her tail :D

her tail is certainly longer than the docked ones and it has a pointy tip but it is not as long as Lexi's or Payson's

Snowy's tail does look docked, It looks like the same size as my dog's. The tail was supposed to be just long enough to fit your whole hand for a good grip or when they stand it should be even with their head. My three have docked tails, I really didn't have a choice for Micki or Mini. Before we docked our pups we let the future owners decide and they all wanted the docked tails, we almost left Kyra's natural because she was soo tiny and we didn't think she was going to make it but last minute we got it done. I really wish we would have left Ky's natural I love the long natural look!

Payson reminds me a lot of Micki, they look so much alike

a picture I took today

can you see that Snowy has quite a long tail? longer than the normally docked ones, but not quite as long as some other Jack Russels.

Don't Jack Russells have long tails anyway? Or or most of them docked?

My neighbor had a long tailed jack russell, but she moved to Arizona, the dog's name was Sprinkles.

I do not know much about Jack Russells, and I definetly did not know they had docked tails.
