Sis my horse that I ride, might die! She was stall locked in her stall when Mary went out to feed her. Stall lock is when they have all four legs facing the wall so they can't get unstuck. We got her up but she was down for more than 2 hours!(Horses can't stay down because all the wait pushes on their lungs and they can't breathe well.) I really need prayers for her, because the vet said that, that is how old horses usually go... Sis will be 30 in a week!

I'm so sorry :( RIP Sis. She lived a long happy life, and the memories you had with her you will never forget.

I'm so sorry. :( One of my friend's horses got cast once (or locked) and he had a really hard time because he was so huge. He made it though. :(

I called Mary up(Sis's real owner, I basically just leased her) and she told me that when they put Sis to sleep that Dot(Mary's other horse) totally flipped out, she was rearing and basically screaming! I told her that Dot was mourning the loss of her motherlike friend, Sis really did treat Dot like she was her baby, even though Dot is 10 years old. I feel bad for Dot now, but Mary said they are going to look into getting her a goat so she doesn't feel so alone.

I'm really, really sorry. :( I can relate, a horse I used to ride was put to sleep after a horrible leg injury. It sucks. You have to think positive, though. She is happy now on the rainbow bridge, and someday you'll be able to ride her again.
