Carla picked up lovely Madeline this afternoon, despite the snow! I'm working on getting them to say yes to those Louisiana boys Lucky & Louie before it's too late, but no pressure! But just think of all the love they'll miss from these two sweet boys if they get snagged up at Petsmart) :D To refresh memories, Madeline was one the ACO in the next town over had trapped one night, and went to the garage to check on her the next day and she had four newborns. Sadly 3 died. :( They just didn't get enough proper nutrition while they were developing in her to thrive. And that litter was right after a previous one. Sweet Madeline's very happy to have space, and Carla loves her! What's not to love about her? She's gorgeous! :) ;)

She was the poor gal that gave birth in the animal control trap...poor gal. they were all stunted. That happens in nature. The mother's know who to tend to and who not to...Well this last gal is a sweetie pie! Anyone who adopts her has a real trooper!

Yes we love Madeline and I just dropped her off in this HUGE snowstorm for blood check and Spade and whatever else she needs.I don't want to keep her in the bathroom all night again.Poor thing went crazy in there last.I had to sleep next to her on the floor for a little while till she calmed and purred.
Ouch..my back.LOL.It was worth seeing her purr and content after. So she'll be home around 2 and have the run of the house after she rests from surgery. She may need to be in the bathroom 1 more night.
And I had Mike read the thread about Lucky and Louie and he's in love with the both of them to my surprise. He never reads THAT much on pettalk.I guess he really wants them.Yippy!!!!!:D :D I nearly died when he said he wanted them. ;)

Three floors to dash around, and tons of toys. :D And they get along so well with other kitties too. YAY!!!:D Thank you Carla & Mike!

Thanks you guys for trusting us.We will give all the best love, home, food and care possible. And plenty of play time with us daily.I have lots and lots of Christmas toy pictures and I havn't even posted those yet.But be well assured that there will be tons of pictures of everyone as soon as I can. Thanks to everyone for saving Lucky and Louie's life.I can't wait to meet them in person. And then I'll really be so so happy that everyone did what they did to save them.I wish you were all closer to visit.Leslie must visit since her role was huge and she lives kind of close to me.They kind of look like Marshall, don't you think? And Marshall ALWAYS unrolls the toilet paper too.Too funny.

Grace, We got a lot of snow last night. I'm stuck indoors right now, but the guy across the street's plowing us out with his truck. It's a loooonng stretch to the street as our house is behind another. I can't wait to know how all the new introductions go! I'm so happy for Madeline, and tickled pink about the Cajun boys! Diane and everyone else from the shelter are very happy the boys are going to an excellent home. The other persons interested in L&L seemed wishy-washy according to Diane.

Just called the vet to check on Madeline. She did VERY well.Negative on FIV and FELV..YAHOOO!!!!And,she has nothing in her stools,no earmites and no fleas or flea dirt. And she's awake but they want me to call around 2 to pick her up.I'm siked.I'm happy because I had a small part on saving her.Jan knew about her but I found out excacly where she was from a nurse at my mom's nursing home around the corner and told Jan.But Jan would of got her soon enough without me I'm sure ;) Jan works on the same street so would of saw her.:D

Carla, I knew Madeline would be in terrific shape. After all, she's had a lot of kitten chow to plump her up while she was here. She's such a nice gentle cat, and I only wished I could have trapped her under sweet Madeline Long's deck last Winter. I would have, if only I had known. :( By the time I knew a cat was under there, Madeline had left and gone up the street. I'm so happy between the two of us, we were able to track her down, and what a fluke that the Animal Control trapped her that night, just before she birthed another litter outside. Now STOP thinking about Olivia lol!

Carla, what TIME can we expect to see pictures of our boys in their new forever home?? I hear they will have 3 stories to run and play in? That's a lot of house!!!
When I had them here, I use to find their water bowl everywhere but I didn't know which one did it. It was always empty, water on the floor and drug in a new direction every day.. I thought it was so funny but the toilet paper thing is even funnier. You going to have to have something to hide that in.
This definately fits the old saying " YOU CAME A LONG WAY BABY!". I promise you that you will fall in love with them BOTH! They have that "Cajun Charm" and are true "Southern Gentlemen".. remember they purr and Meow in Cajun only so they will sound strange at first..:D

Carla!!!! You haven't even seen her lol! But she is another rescued beauty. :D Shame on you lol! :p Laura, you were posting the same time I was LOL! I hear that (I think Louie) has quite the water fetish! He helped Diane at the shelter by trying to do the dishes he really just wanted to play in the water and he does have a way of dragging waterbowls everywhere to the point that they had to put his bowl into an empty litterpan lol! So between the water boy, and the paper freak Carla & Mike are in for some fun, fun, fun! Lucky likes to take the rolls of papertowels, and hug them and kick them before attacking them with his teeth! :D Batten down the hatches Carla & Mike! :D ;)

I too am very happy! And in hindsight, yes the water bowl was always dry! I knew someone was dragging it around because it was never where I left it but I never figured out who exactly was moving it around the bathroom! I filled it twice a day, more on weekends...what a good boy! Demanding fresh water after one drink!!!!
Laura, I think Kevlin and Rhonda will be happy with the new family and I know you are! Whew!!! They made it to a home and they are such loves, I remember at my house, they pushed their way out of the bathroom and made theirselves at home right away! Unfortunately, my Pixie got onto this attitude and would not let them be so comfortable! She stalked them and cornered them every chance she got! (i was pleased when Lucky gave her a cut over her eye- it kept her from stalking the bathroom door after that!) they will be SO happy!

I posted on Louie and Lucky were instint celebrities.I think everything will be fine once they calm down.Right now L&L own the house and everyone in it.Growling and hissing. My cats aren't hissing and just run from them. But it's better than last night. In time it will get better. They love to be patted and picked up but don't like sharing toys and food.I have food dishes all over the kitchen.Water bowls on every floor. But they want it all to themselves.LOL
I have to admit,I'm not use to such wildness in my home. They really are wild cats..but also very lovable in the same breath.
Louie insist on going on the kitchen counters.NONE of my cats go up there. So I'll have to get rid of that habbit VERY soon before everyone copies him.I don't allow any cats on the countertops and I never had any problems with them doing it in the past.Louie is stubborn and doesn't like to be told what to do.He growls at all the cats. They both are.My poor babies.But..It's getting better. We just have to wait and see.I think they'll calm down once they see my cats aren't a threat. They seem to love the house and looking out the windows at all the snow.

Carla, they were great when I turned them loose in my house, there was no hissing, growling or fighting. Maybe Leslies Pixie got them jumpy so give them a few days. They didn't try to get on my counters either so they may be testing their limits with you.. Just get the squirt bottle handy. They are smart and will learn.
It took Samantha about 3 to 4 months months to realize there was no need to hog the food bowls since she was so malnourished when I got her. Remember, they were thrown out of the house and not fed and it'll take them awhile to get over that fear of going hungry. (It took Samantha awhile as I said).. Give them time and they will blend in, they need getting aquainted time with your other ones... I never did think Samantha would get along with my others but now they tolerate each other and mine like the fact that SHE is the one who signals it is TIME TO EAT!!!
When Samantha would attack one of my other ones, I would scold her and shut her in a room alone for about a hour.. In 3 days she had learned and connected being shut up with fighting and there was no more fighting.. If all else fails, try that.
